Military establishment wanted to settle those terrorists in KPK post US exit from Afghanistan. And when that ingenious plan didn’t work out, they as usually put the entire blame on civilian government of that time, which just happened to be Imran Khan’s.

The reason I used the word "Cult" and compare it to Taliban suicide bombers is because I have interacted with a lot of PTI supporters, I use to be one, and more recently interacted with a couple of very close family members who support PTI. I was shocked to see the absolute dismissive, extreme "Taliban" like attitude. It convinced me that these people have gone bonkers and totally brain-washed. THE ONLY SOLUTION IS RE-EDUCATION ! Otherwise, these people will become extremely dangerous to majority of Pakistan people who DISDAIN IMRAN KHAN !

There is a recent video I posted in this thread. A very sad but alarming video! In the video, Imran's sister is chanting 'Shahadat, Shahadat, Shahadat' (Martyrdom] along with some Mullah and other Imran supporters in a bid to help Imran's prison condition. 'Shahadat' for that?!! And in November 2024, Imran's wife, his chosen Chief Minister of K-P Mr. Gandapur yet again marched on Islamabad with some of them wearing 'Kaffan' (Muslim burial shrouds).

So essentially you are not wrong to draw the comparisons with the Taliban suicide bombers: It is a slippery slope! But just imagine, in 21st century, a so-called Oxford University graduate who claims to 'know the West well' and who claims to lead 'the Youth' of Pakistan has formed such following.

Yeah, it’s quite disturbing why civilians would be chanting for martyrdom when it should be the job of persons from military background only!

As to those here saying Imran is not taking any 'Deal': It is a big assumption that any 'deal' has been even offered. Who holds all the cards? Certainly not Imran except for his ethnic blackmail where he doesn't even mind supporting the terrorists from Afghanistan. And just first two minutes of this video should tell you about his 'bravery'. Look at @hydrabadi_arab profile pic for a confirmation of the 'bravery'. Haha!

You and I saw the General Zia ul Haq era personally and know what that had done to Pakistan. So you, joking or not, just think of what kind of mindset a 'leadership' has bred which asks for 'Martyrdom' to achieve even routine political goals???

Then why did we help the Americans drive occupying Soviets out of Pakistan’s enemy Afghanistan during Afghan Jihad?

Because we foolishly placed religious and ethnic interests above national interests

It would have been better if we let the soviet's destroy the Afghans

Instead we thought as Muslims we should support the Afghans,
We also had ethnic support because our own pashtuns both in government, military etc gave extra impetus
We let the millions of namak harams, gave them.places to stay, work and get educated

All for nothing

At the least, those of us who know how the use of religion as political tool should identify and let the new generation of Pakistanis know of those dangers.
If can find a video of 'The Pakistan Experience' from many months ago in which the host (Ghias) had Syed Muzammal Shah had a long debate; they, especially Muzammal, are not some Establishment touts and are quite young--certainly not raised in Zia's era unlike it was my and your curse to be raise in. Anyway, in that debate, they rightly identified Zia'ism in Imran and IIRC Imran as the worst option for Pakistan even considering the sorry alternates.
