As expected from the bootsFauji Fertilizer Joins Arif Habib Consortium for PIA Takeover
Sorry, brother, if you think the faujis won't take every single pound of flesh they can, you are not being hopeful, but delusional.Bhai mujhe bhi itni power de do. 10 hazar āsmart movesā kerke dikhao ga.
Letās hope they donāt force the other partners to make PIA a dumping ground for retired faujis.
Menon are gujarati.I am not Memon but every Karachiite knows how good the Memon community is when it comes to business management and enterpreneur spirit. They are like the Gujaratis from India (but better looking and more into charity)
Make a deal with Trump real estate !Tell Them To Put $4 Billion On The Table .Whose Complaining??
I think that PIA is under good hands now. However, realistically, they won't go back to the "glory days" of the Nur Khan years. That was an entirely different era. The deregulation and increased competition has made profit margin razor thin now, and there is little room for risk taking and trial and error.
PIA was in its prime in a world where Pan Am was a world class air line. That business model will not cut it any more.

You don't have Bohras In pakistan ? They are also damn good businessman. There are three communities in Pakistan known for being very good at business: the Memons, Delhi Saudagaran, and Chiniotis. The Parsi community used to be prominent as well, but they are hard to find nowadays.
Agreed with you 100%. It seems PIA is in better hands now. If you ask meāand I know this might sound bad to manyāthe inclusion of FFC is great and a positive move for PIA because they have the influence necessary to handle the 'babus' and prevent any potential sabotage of the progress.

Glory days maybe gone but with the huge population growth Pakistan has and the hugely increased diaspora since the glory days, there is still a huge amount of foreign exchange being lost to the Emirates of Pakistan. Even Shabbar Zaidi--not exactly an admirer of the current economy / regime--is welcoming this change and wishing the same for the Pakistan Steel Mills.

if military is doing jv with businessmen then thats good if they are doing alone then it can create monoply which is badGood post and right about FFC. A few things to note:
1) It was the damn PPP which has been resisting privatization of PIA for decades and is still willing to challenge that in Courts but now the military 'Danda' is over them so they can't do much.
2) The Fauji businesses, IMO, are not detached from the rest of the Pakistani society and I am one of those minority ones in this forum who doesn't make too much of a distinction between the military and the rest of the society. They are all cut from the same cloth.
3) Please watch the Shabbar Zaidi's short video I just posted above. He makes good sense.
