PAF Conducts Successful Test Launch of Taimoor ALCM

thanx.. the podcast is starting next month. right?

Pakistan’s various programs have been utilizing FPGA for multiple decades now. Where they are sourcing it is not known.
I asked it because for supersonic or hypersonic if one want to go for ATR then definitely one will need an efficent and faster chipset. However, the algorithms like for image recognition are also much pruned and smaller with same accuracy like mobilnet etc. but still the time for supersonic and hypersonic will be very very much less to get the confirmation?

Or i guess ATR via AI is not feasible for any hypersonic yet?

there is also the matter of how much progress has been made and what is the status of the said programs. One of the many things I learned from the old forum is that Pakistan has a habit of starting many projects simultaneously only for many to end up just being either paper only concepts or getting dropped after 1st prototype (eg the PAC MALE drone) etc.

H4 has a TV seeker. Pakistan has been working on IIR for last couple years. The issue was maturing and mass production of IIR seeker. This IIR seeker was displayed by GIDS at one of the exhibitions. Range of seeker is 10-20 KM IIRC.
Faaz IIR range is 40km. Of course that’s in air to air scenario.

Hypersonic/supersonic is future music. It would also be a challenge to expose IIR seeker in a vehicle covered with hot plasma.

Those which have seen success also use FPGA. So the expertise of using/programming it has existed for a very long time now.
