Pakistan is barely important and not indispensable to the US. The US is still trying to coerce India. If the coercion doesn’t work, then Trump could also apply any such restrictions on India for however long he sees fit.

There is also the magnitude of disruption if it were done to India, compared to Pakistan. But frankly we know this is, in part, just another way for Trump to slow down immigration any way he can from countries he sees as having less desirable people.

I read you can still get H1B, and other non immigrant visas. Business visas as well. The issue will be for American Pakistanis who wants to bring their parents or wife and child here from Pakistan.
