Iranian boats seem very old. Credit to engineering in maintaining them and being able to do long haul ops
Was thinking the same thing I know part of the issue these ships become worn quickly because of long voyages but definitely old compared to most modern navies I do live their catamaran ships even though they aren’t made for long voyages yet

Another beautiful photo taken during the BRICS exercise "Will for Peace 2026" in South Africa: Makran Expeditionary Sea Base (441) + IRGC-N Shahid Mahdavi Sea Base (110-3) and, although very small compared to the other two naval units, the IRIN corvette Naghdi (82).

The satellite photo doesn't indicate the date, but if it were recent, perhaps it would have been more convenient to take this ship out of the Persian Gulf as was done with Shahid Mahdavi (110-3) and Makran (441). Sailing different routes would make them more difficult targets to detect and, in any case, would divert US ships and aircraft away from the Iranian coast that should be searching for or monitoring them, as these units could potentially launch retaliatory strikes.
The same goes for the Kilo-class submarines currently operating outside the Persian Gulf. Thanks to their high level of silence at low speeds, which has earned them the nickname "black hole" by the US Navy, they could pose a great risk to enemy ships approaching the Gulf.

Iran should send out tonight the midget submarines Ghadir class

the Persian Gulf is shallow for US Navy nuclear submarines

lie in wait set up sea mines in open sea lanes force the American Carriers into pre-planned kill zones with already calibrated missiles from the mainland

sink those b@stards

Let’s assume they will be monitoring waters and naval bases for theoretical sneak attack unless they have underwater bases like in those old James Bond moves never say never when it comes to Irans underground missiles cities definitely could have those

I honestly doubt those midget submarines can do anything against the carrier group. Even the Kilos will find it very tough. I am also sure there are US submarines in the Persian Gulf which are being kept secret.

Persian Gulf is very shallow, big nuclear subs can't easily hide there

I think it was a Swedish submarine during a exercise that surfaced next to the US Carrier ?

the thing with small midget ones is they are very hard to detect and track

so they have a chance

Given the fact that US carriers won't enter Persian Gulf and small displacement of small Ghadir, taking out of the Persian Gulf is a risk. They have a short range and are unable to operate under the sea during weeks. Also carriers have two ASW screens. The escort ASW helicopters (SH60R) and the strategic P8 (I think US carriers doesn't embark SH60R, just MH60 which is purely transport).

But inside PG, the P8 cannot operate easily (SAM systems and shallow waters) and given the fact that US DDG at much can deploy 2 MH60R, Ghadir has good chances against any of them inside the PG. Their waters are noisy (lot of maritime traffic), the electronic Horizon is full of false ecos, and short ranges and islands can hide easier those small subs.

May God help them to hit any of those fascists ships arrived for looting the country like Venezuela.

Chinese Type 052D and Type 055 destroyers are en route to joint exercises with the Iranian and Russian navies in the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. The exercises will take place on February 1 and 2.

Isn’t Ghadir only able to stay submerged for less than a week continuously without recharging its oxygen and out at sea 15-30 days?

They might be on a one way mission at that point.
