Thanks a lot and indeed a most interesting news!

So, that means we have around 175 frames.

I would say yes, as there is no reason why Azerbaijan would adopt Pakistani tail numbers . The serial number of the airframe is unique, but the tail number is specific to the airforce. You can see the tail numbers of Nigerian jets to see they did not adopt the Pakistani ones either.

Looks like PAF is getting close to 50 x JF17C ( Block III's ) now. That will make it 2 x the number of meteor carriers(Rafales) that the IAF has with PAF PL15E carriers.

( PAF owns the skies right now over South Asia, but things could change when the Rafales turn up on mass though ).

PAF still operates the following :

49 x Mirage III
37 x Mirage 5
52 x F7PGs

Hopefully PAF can make progress on retiring these soon ( starting with the F7PGs which would be the least capable platform ( regardless of airframe life)).

The numbers add up without any surprises for those keeping tabs on yearly production, induction.

Production is 14 to 16 per year. 2021 production was inducted in 2022. 2022 production inducted in 2023 and appears with PAF serials 23-3xx (probably upto 23-330 even though 323 is highest scene). 2023 production was the one that was initially diverted to Azb, hence Alan's tweet of 2024.

Now we could be in the process of the converting the 3rd blk 3 squadron based on 2024 production unless they have also been diverted to fulfil the allegedly larger Azeri order.
25-342: accepted in PAF in 2025. Produced in 2024 probably, since those following older production and yearly 30-Dec lineup in yellow primer outside PAC know.

I guess I guessed correct 6 months ago.

Now let's see who will be the first who can guess the new squadron to convert?

To counter the Rafale factor, PAF will need to have 3–4 sqs of J-10C

Impossible. That tweet alone crashes down the credibility of that twitter account. Shows he lacks basic knowledge. Stop following that joker.

How on earth Pakistan can sell a military product and that too fighter jets to Iran. US won't approve it and hence sanctions. We even couldn't make a pipeline for gas from Iran in fear of US sanctions. and I see twitter accounts telling that Pakistan and Iran having defense collaboration or sales LOL.

Apart from US, we are now in defense pact with KSA. So anything defense or military level collaboration with Iran is now out of the table completely.

If our defence posters keep it up, then Pakistan will sell JF-17s to US airforce soon.
