India Economy Thread

"Given the budget announcements, we expect investments in data centres to rise to $200 billion, up from the $70 billion of investments currently being executed. We are also seeing interest from AI server manufacturers to invest in India," Vaishnaw said at a press conference, after the presentation of the Union Budget.

We are going to be flooded with Data centers. A very important strategic asset. Almost all of the cloud platform in the region especially Indian subcon will be handled in India.

Looks like Modi era ballooning debt servicing will soon start to sting

Yes! This will start to hurt a lot! We are drowning in debt. I fear me might need to beg for delayed payments or IMF loans!
I just learned that total foreign debt held by Indian government is whopping 168 billion USD so yeah, we are done for!

Video: XR disrupts Tata Steel Chess Tournament, dumps 2,025 Kg of coal at the venue

The Tata Steel Chess Tournament in Wijk aan Zee was delayed Saturday after Extinction Rebellion activists blocked the venue and dumped coal at the entrance, organizers said. The tournament had been scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. at the community center De Moriaan. Extinction Rebellion confirmed that protesters had blocked the entrance and dumped 2,025 kilograms of coal.

The group said the action was meant to symbolize their rejection of fossil fuel sponsorship, citing Tata Steel’s lack of progress toward climate neutrality. A spokesperson for XR said, “No chess on a dead planet.” Footage from the protest showed activists beating drums at the entrance.

Ram ram ji,

Is Wijk aan Zee located in India ? Even if it were, how is this post relevant to the Indian economy ?

I hope the moderators and administrators sahebaan will include this thread within the ambit of their superlative surveillance for irrelevant posts and trolling.

I had mentioned this many pages ago, though I was made fun of. You don’t need deep expertise to see where H1B policies eventually lead, even basic business logic points in this direction.

In the long run, it’s actually multiple times better for India when these jobs come here, rather than just sending individuals to work abroad.
