Iranian Navy | News and Discussions

I just saw the Sahand pics again, with its arman system and wondered why wasn't it representing IRIN? Also, I think one of the Soleimani catamarans is currently equipped with an aesa.

IRIN sends ship with paper radar and IRGC sends ship without radar at all
apparently they have installed a radar on the new IRGC catamaran,

? it's literally a sheet of paper
Theres the radar mounted above and behind it,dont forget that this was the primary radar for the original [now sunk] damavand, that is likely the radar that its currently using.

One of the [many] problems with the irin is that virtually every system seems to be produced purely as a bespoke one off with little real thought given to any serious mass production, even something like the kamand ciws seems to be built only as single units on an as needed basis rather than any attempt at mass production for fitment to as many irin vessels as possible, which is what should be done considering the irins "weakness" [I`m being polite] in AA systems.

You need titanium based hulls.
That´s is not exactly.

You need HY-100 steel. Titanium are expensive, really expensive, and welding system it is so complicated that after welding you cannot open it again for same place.
Titanium it is so complicated to operate, that most of navies (including US Navy and European navies) use HY80/100/130 for submarines, not titanium.

Moreover, soviets, AFAIK they had only two classes of SSN, Sierra and Alpha, but they returned again to steel in the subsequent Akula.

IMO the best for IRIN it is HY100 for deeper operating oceanic submarines. And at that point cooperation with Russians seems to be the Key.

Can anyone explain him that it is not a "paper radar" please? I've had enough with these senseless allegations of paper radars and fake missile launches/photoshop

What i can tell as a photographer is that the image you sent is the refraction/reflection present in real life where it was took which is reinforced by taking pictures
