US carrier group will always keep a safe distance from Iranian coast. Maybe 1000 Km+. So they will deal with only the long range Iranian missiles. Unlike fixed ground targets, the ships are fast moving objects that's why much more harder target and not to mention heavily defended.

This war will have 2 Main Fronts : The Persian Gulf/Hormuz Strait Front and the Bab El-Mandeb Strait Front.

Yes, the Houthis will play a major role in this upcoming war too, as their strategic position they occupy there can help to choke off more oil coming in and out(except for Russian and Chinese-flagged ships which shall be spared), while their main anti-shipping targets become Israeli vessels carrying oil, as well as all NATO ships coming to assist US and Israel. NATO ships can become legit targets so prepare to enjoy watching French, UK, etc, etc ships burn and sink if the Houthis get serious...

Do you think your cult leader will be ready for a lengthy war? 2 or 3 carriers wont be enough to subdue Iran in a total war scenario. They fought a war with Iraq for 10 years and didn't back off. This carrier could even be used to relieve the current one.

This is going to be a decapitation strike of regime leadership and security forces and the destruction of Iran's ballistic missiles capability. US already knows the location of Iran's missile storage and manufacturing plants and will be gone the first night of attack. Iran will likely only be able to launch one volley of missiles likely couple dozen before US takes out the launchers. Iran was able to keep firing missiles during 12-day war because even though IDF was able to fly over Iran airspace at will it wasn't able to stay over Iran that will not be the case for US. Once USAF and USN has air supremacy over Iran they are going to stay and have fighters and armed drones over all known locations where Iran launches their missiles.

This is not arrogance talking this is just my conjecture. Even if US fails to kill the leadership the first night all communications will be severed they'll be busy trying to survive and will have no control in giving orders and that is where the "resistance" comes in. I have no doubt the anti government forces are prepared for the "Go" order they will all of sudden going to be well armed when they hit the streets.

This is why as an armchair 4-star General for Iran forces I'd launch a preempt strike. I'd launch as much as I can before I lose it because lose it is going to be the final outcome so why wait to get hit first might as well go out and do as much damage as possible.

1-2 missies a day right? Did US have the massive built up like they do for Iran? Of course not. US didn't have 24/7 patrols over Yemen and relied on slow drones for coverage.

Trump never cared about that when he seized Iranian tankers before and he won't care about that in the future

Trump right now is calm and speaking very positively on Iran. He is under the impression Iran will give him a deal he can parade around.

However, if Iran doesn’t. Then Trump throws him temper tantrums and goes scorched earth until he either calms down or someone gives him an off ramp. This behavior has been seen numerous times.

So right now oil tankers are not being considered, but that can change very quickly depending on Trumps mood.

I see China going to war on USA and attacking Taiwan if they restrict oil supplies to China.

You see WW3 everywhere. Meanwhile, Iran accounts for less than 10% of Chinese oil imports.

Xi isn’t going to war over that. China is very methodical and risk averse. Nothing in last 25 years points to China liking the use of military force to achieve its goals.
