Again, it's not Iran directly, but groups that associate or symphatised on Iran, like Hezbollah, Hamas, or Houthis, or whatever group Iran supports, I mean, it could be Russian Separatist (well, it's kind of a stretch........just saying)

No country supports terrorist attacks directly, even though AQ wasn't directly supported by Afghanistan and the Taliban when they attacked the US. I am just saying this is going to open the door to a terrorist group to attack the US during one of the biggest world events. If the terrorist alert during the FIFA World Cup is going to be 7, this will shoot it up over 10.

Whether it is Iran, a group they support or mickey mouse, Iran doesn't target civilian events or civilians in general.

This isn't going to blow back to Trump, you can hit the US asset middle eastern asset all you want, they had been emptying those in the past month (It was on the news) This ins't going to burn Trump or any way like this, the Venezuela thing is a test case for him, as long as no US casualty, American don't care.

Unless he mean it when he was talking about Regime Change, which would mean US force on the ground, that would have been another Iraq, maybe a bit worse and we don't have NATO and EU support, so I am seeing this as minimal, he is going to dump around 100 million worth of missile in Iran, and then call it a win, and go back to what he did before, he wouldn't even do something like Maduro, because if he had, we would have know about it already.

I tend to agree with this because they can't tie up multiple countries in conflict, shut down air routes and sea routes and effect oil and gas for too long

However this all DEPENDS ON IRAN

If Iran says, nope this was INTOLERABLE and we are going to keep going, keep hurting Israel and keep destroying U.S bases in the region, then the 7 day short war turns into a international problem

What is happening in Iran?​

Shortly after 09:30 Tehran time (06:00 GMT), Iranian media reported explosions in the capital. Pictures seen by the BBC show smoke over the city's Jomhouri Square and Hassan Abad Square.

Explosions were also reportedly heard in multiple other cities across the country, including: Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, and Kermanshah. The extent of any casualties or injuries are unknown at this point.

Iran's airspace has been closed since the attacks, Tasnim News Agency said.
Trump has described the operation as "massive and ongoing".

Several verified videos show plumes of smoke rising across Tehran.

BBC Verify has located one video within a kilometre of Leadership House, the office of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. It is not clear from the video angle if it was a direct hit on the building.

Another verified photo from the same area shows thick, dark columns of smoke rising above residential buildings and small grocery shops. There are also reports of strikes elsewhere in the country.

I haven't seen this news; if it's a real number, it seems to be a comprehensive attack, considering that the attacks against Qatar, Bahrain, the Emirates, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia may use short-range missiles, which should be in greater quantities than MRBMs – the only missiles capable of reaching Jordan and Israel.

What have the US and Israel said?​

Trump posted a video on Truth Social confirming US involvement.

"A short time ago, the United States military began major combat operations in Iran," he said.

"Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime," he said, adding that Washington's aim is to "ensure that Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon".

He also told the Iranian people to remain in shelter and not leave their homes.
"When we are finished, take over your government," he said. "It will be yours to take. This will be probably your only chance for generations."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu similarly called on all Iranian people "to throw off the yoke of tyranny and bring about a free and peaceful Iran".

Thanking Trump, he reiterated his message that Iran "must not be armed with nuclear weapons that would allow it to threaten all of humanity".

"Our joint action will create the conditions for the courageous Iranian people to take their destiny into their own hands."

He also advised Israeli citizens to follow guidance from authorities.

Earlier, Israel's defence minister declared a "special and permanent state of emergency" across Israel.
