First of all, China is not an opportunist nation. They plan for 50-years ahead.

Secondly, any sinking of an American aircraft carrier will be responded with a nuclear strike.

I don't believe any sinking of an American carrier will result in a nuke strike.
Those Crusaders just wants to make you fear it so you will not attack such a legitimate target with conventional warheads.

And if they do nukes that it would mean the extinction of the US as a country because other players will do something to end the USA.
