Excellent interpretation and illustration of western duplicity in pursuit of selfish interests.Mortality bends to necessity. The following is a very famous line in The Prince by Machiavelli:
"Hence it is necessary for a prince wishing to hold his own to know how to do wrong, and to make use of it or not according to necessity."
To understand the West, you have to read and read some more; its philosophical thought has been built over centuries.
However I must differ with your tacit implication that we in the eastern world fundamentally do not have cognisance of this stark truth that underpins most of human nature. We most certainly do know of this game. Chanakiya is our continent's most notorious proponent and would have given Machiavelli a run for his money!
