And India is still buying oil from Russia. As I said before, it was never really stopped. If you check the latest data, Russia remains the top supplier of oil to India.

Getting a waiver from the United States would simply make things easier. But even if that waiver doesn’t come, it doesn’t change much because India has already been receiving oil continuously from Russia. In other words, the supply was already there.

India's access to crucial energy supplies received a temporary boost on Friday after US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced a 30-day waiver allowing Indian refiners to purchase Russian oil.

The Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control issued a Russia-related licence "Authorizing the Delivery and Sale of Crude Oil and Petroleum Products of Russian Federation Origin Loaded on Vessels as of March 5, 2026 to India," the Treasury said in a statement.

That should tell the planners in Pakistan that when the war is imposed on Pakistan, India will have unlimited supply of crude oil even from Indian allies enemies so it can take care of business in Pakistan

The point is, even if one drop of oil from Russia reaches India it's a win for us. What US promised was reducing oil imports to zero but failed. Now the middle east war is going to put pressure on Europe, they can't import oil from Russia but we will then sell refined petrol and diesel to Europe and make billions. You can jump hoops to find a reason to downplay this, like you always do lol!
