Since SL is no more, what if they just abandone this position and publicly elected President - Masoud Pezeshkian takes the command of the country.

That way, Islamic Theocratic system is concluded and Iran becomes a public democratic state.

IRGC is merged with existing traditional military structure.
For Trump/Netanyahu, Islamic Fundamentalism threat is no more and for Iran, a unified government structure is achieved.

Are you trying to be funny? Pezeshkian got no credibility at all, and IRCG is too powerful to just go away in the military.

Israel / US has a state policy of Zero-Sum game. Its either us or them. I have been saying this for years. Their strategy is if they has to survive and progress then all their threats should be removed.

Iran hoped its turn will not come when US was destroying Iraq twice( 1991 and 2003).

Iran again missed opportunity when Israel was busy against Hamas and Hezbullah 2 -3 years ago. Both these groups were quite significant by then. Iran should have launched a surprise attack by then instead waiting for its turn.

Lastly, Iran missed opportunity by not doing pre-emptive strike on Israel, US bases when it was 100% clear by news of "armada" heading towards Iran and other assets. Iran doing first attack would have degraded US / Israel forces quite significantly. Only fools were believing that all concentration of the forces and armada was just for decoration and not attacking Iran. I was crystal clear and was saying all along that they are going to attack you, "talks" are time buying deception. Also I don't agree to people saying, oh then US would have completely destroyed Iran blabla. So what are they doing now ? only way to survive destruction or stop US military actions is to degrade their capabilities and inflict costs on them. There are no rules of engagement and there's no mercy in war. This is zero sum game. Its either you or them.

Lesson for future generations and other countries, whenever you are painted as a target then do not let US / Israel take the first initiative. Make few but strong allies, do massive preparations and hit enemy first whenever its understood that you are painted. I was convinced that Iran is painted when Qasim solemani was killed.

Anyways war is not over. Iran is resilient, it can absorb punishment and if the IR don't fall and keep hitting back even in reduced levels, it will be a win for Iran.

Once the US bombers ramp up, developments are likely to come at a more rapid pace. Hopefully, it will cut short the civilian toll and suffering, by enabling early negotitations.
