Almost certainly being kept in reserve for the Red sea. Possibly also against Saudi. If the straits of hormuz are closed, Saudi can still get imports from the red sea. Houthis will most likely try to block that path if necessary.

If Iran attacks oil and desalination plants which would cripple the gulf Arabs, it could cause the usa to deploy troops not only for Iranian ground invasion but also put down unrest in these gulf kingdoms. We know without money and water coming in fast enough, the gulf Arabs will revolt especially the Shia in Saudi.

I wandered into my company’s Iranian Slack channel and the cognitive dissonance was wild.
You’ve got third-generation Pahlavists alongside people who emigrated from Iran just 7–10 years ago and still have family in Tehran.
One guy was openly raising money to buy Starlinks and bragging about contacts who could smuggle them in through Azerbaijan.
Another was handing out “virtual sweets” celebrating Khamenei’s supposed death — then immediately saying he was relieved he finally managed to reach his father in Tehran after four days.

The disconnect is staggering.

I hear ya, this is too common among expat Iranians. Linkedin is full of them, many conversation threads going.
