Only at Omaha was the defense heavier than expected. The landings at Utah were relatively unopposed. Can't speak to Gold / Sword / Juno though I know there are a few who can. Once we got off the beaches, it was the beginning of the end.
To your point, drones have changed everything. Which is something I have stated repeatedly since Russia began their on-going "3 Day SMO".

Saudi has issued a statement they will not be tricked into a war with a neighbour
Iran has never attacked anyone, any attack from Iran is still the fault of Israel because Israel started the war not Iran
US quickly ran to protect Israel at the start of the war leaving Arabs defenceless
They took interceptors from Arabs to save Israel
Now they have ran out of interceptors they are asking Arabs to attack Iran
Soon USA will carry out a false flag attack on Saudi or some other Arab nations and blame Iran
Arabs be careful they don’t like you they don’t trust you and they certainly won’t look after you
