Pakistan’s name seems to be getting thrown around a lot lately, as if it’s some kind of major power whose entry will make a huge difference. But Pakistan military doesn’t have anything in terms of technology that Saudi Arabia or their American protectors don’t already have. Pakistan barely has any anti-missile air defense or offense capability.

The reality is that the Pakistan military specializes in suppression of the local population, not in fighting other countries. It has a 250 year history of doing that, ever since the British created the British Indian Army to rule over India.

So, in the event that the Pakistani Field Marshal orders his troops into Saudi Arabia it will be to protect the House of Saud from the local population, not to fight Iran.
