how does the US plan to reach Kharg island in the first place when they can't even approach the Strait of Hormoz?

ive seen arguments saying they can send soldiers from kuwait via helicopters and amphibiuous craft.

Of course first they would bomb to weaken air defences. I am not sure how feasible this is, or would helicopters easily be shot down?

You going to transport 5000 troops by helicopter? That would require 100 Super Stallion helicopter. Straight into manpad territory and helicopter mines.

Is trump trying to delay Iranian response by redirecting conditions for Iranian strikes in the region. That is typical trump. The threats are likely, though it puts Iran in a box to focus on the straits, not focus on expanding targets, while ukrainians train regional players to use drone interceptors, rendering much of Iranian attacks useless, Iran would have to use their missile stockpiles as drones are less and less effective.

Why do you think it is a requirement that all 5,000 have to go to the island at once? That isn’t a firm requirement.

Not that I think they will be going there.
 
The most effective part of the war to use drones was the first weekend.

As things escalate, the usa gets more of a stranglehold on Iranian responses involving drones, especially at longer ranges.
