It's a balancing act. Iran can't make Hormuz alternatives like over-land transport profitable or politically necessary. Hormuz has to maintain its relevance to be used as a pressure point. We've proven we can close it, they will have to account for that in future decision making now.Won't that be a major mistake by Iran ? This needs to drag on for a few more weeks, preferably a month for the oil shortages to become visible in countries and the economic and political damage to be permanent. Else all this will be forgotten in six months and Trump/Israel will be back for another bite of the apple in 2027 or 2028.
