If US leaves the war.. Iran will be selling oil and gas almost 2x more expensive than before and Hormuz will be a new source for income (tens of billions usd a year) and GCC has to accept the new situation, while suffering reputation of being 100% secure for investors. It will be a strategic victory for Iran.

Dont know whose advising Trump - a ground invasion would be suicidal -
The petro dollar would cease to exist and that would be catastrophic for the US
No one is advising trump for ground invasion , it's psyops.....you need minimum half a million troops to invade Iran .... where would the half a million troops amass to launch an attack ? ... Turkey and Pakistan are the most feasible places for launching ground invasion..... Saudi Arabia can also be a launching pad but that will stretch the supply lines and you would have to completely subdue Iraq before reaching Iran ...

.in a nutshell , no ground invasion... within next couple of weeks warring parties will reach some agreement.

In my opinion - Saudi Arabia and Iran should work together to get rid of small snake minons like UAE (the worst), Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar (two faces) and Israel.

Maybe some day Saudi will wake up!

Let's talk between
Impossible as Wahhabism sees Iranians as heretics who must be destroyed. Don't believe the MBS propaganda that Saudi has now moved beyond Wahhabism into modernity.

USA Marine force has developed a new doctrine for Persian Gulf

MEU does not need large number of troops

as explained here

I know im entering fantasy land here, had China, Russia and the southern block of nations helped Iran vs US/Israel like Nato and western countries did v Russia in Ukraine, Israel and the US would face a certain military and strategic defeat. Right now they are facing a strategic defeat and one hopes Iran can endure long enough to tank the US economy.

China Russia and like minded nations must intervene to stop this war, use UN and other platforms and gurantee Iran will not build nukes and in return gurantee Iran security and removal of sanctions. A joint military base must be built in Iran, to protect Iran, to protect Strait of hormuz, to gurantee security of world trade route, GCC also be given their security assurance.

How about Iran threatens to nuke UAE with dirty bombs and Pakistan provides security guarantee to UAE in exchange for a good sum, in excess of 100bn dollars. The proceeds of which can be split between Pakistan and Iran.

Pakistanis really need to milk the situation pro max. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
sharing is caring , give some to Egypt also, we gonna go bankrupt soon LOL

I concur... There will be no major ground invasion. But of course we're talking about Trump the buffoon here, so I suppose anything shouldn't be ruled out

Yeah, and it is not just about actual aircraft losses. The wear and tear on the older planes (F-16s, F-15Es, E-3s, KC-135s etc) will be immense/ Basically 2-3 years worth of flying done in a month, maintainence cycles being skipped.

Then there is the weaponry being expended (granted almost all air to ground due to the nature of the war).

This has put back the USAF (and to a much lesser extent the USN) quite a bit

great post.

food for thought
