US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

That would be a victory for Trump/US. Of course it’s only a 2 week ceasefire, and final political outcomes are still up in the air, but a reopening after killing half of Iranian leadership and destroying it’s military and defense industries is a W for Trump.
There are two main goals for the US in this war; opening the Strait was not one of them because the Strait was already open BEFORE the war. And now, by telling Iran they need to open the strait, it literally ceded the strait to Iran.

Both goal were not even mentioned in this war, Iran did not pledge to give up their Nuclear ambition nor the Ballistic Missile Ambition. So how exactly do you see this as a "win" for us? When we're all said and done, is it literally going back to before Feb 28? That is if this ceasefire holds.

I do agree with you, this is a win for the military defence company, but a lost for everyday Americans, because the only thing that changes is we lost about 500 million in equipment alone in this war, take a guess who is going to pay for it? Iran may have lost a couple of thousand people in the upper echelon, and the gas price in the US is up almost 100%, and they aren't coming down until at least October.

Actually, what Trump did was showed the world how easy it was for ANY Middle Eastern power to close the strait. Iran just happened to be the closest.
What Trump did was to show the world how it's viable to ignore international law and norms; it also shows Iran how they can get what they want as long as Trump is in power. I don't think that from now on, short of a full invasion of Iran, there would be any way we can stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons because Trump has shown Iran that taking Hormuz hostage and threatening the world works, and we are too dumb to have made any alternative since the 1970s.

It's typical of CNN. Nothing positive ever comes from them regarding President Trump. Then again, they were complicit for four years covering up the mental decline of Joe Biden.

Lets hope and pray for more positive news like the above in days to come. This is a very positive signal.

No enrichment and HEU extraction is the red line for Trump. He also states Iran has agreed on multiple points of his 15 point plan.

Dude, if he is already prepared to do this, then why did we spend the last 40 days bombing them? Why not just go directly and talk about relief sanctions in exchange for non-Nuclear enrichment? We lost 13 guys, a few hundred million in equipment, spiking up the gas price so he can go start talking to them when he ALREADY could on day one?

The Trump administration is expected to significantly scale back its plan to seek additional funding for the war in Iran ahead of what is likely to be a contentious fight over the request in Congress.

The total, which as of Tuesday had not been finalized, is likely to fall between $80 billion and $100 billion, said two U.S. officials.
