Trump needed an off ramp from his “entire civilization will die tonight” tweet. Iran stupidly gave in thinking Trump would actually do it. US sent Iran fake signals it was ready for a compromise. A naive Qalibaf thought he could show up in Pakistan and strong arm Vance and get a good deal. U.S. purposely sent false signals to secure the ceasefire that it was willing to adhere to (10 point agreement).
In the end they lied. Presented iran with the same deal in May 2025 and then when Iran refused. They set up a naval blockade on Iran.
These Iranian politicians cost Iran dearly every time they get bamboozled by the West.

Leading to this war, during the negotiations in Oman, Iran was willing to concede more than it was conceded for the JCPOA; Iran was trying to just avert this catastrophic war and ride it out till Trump leaves the office. An attack was imminent and the Americans had amassed a lot of firepower on Iran. Even Oman says an agreement was near then but one thing Iran could not accept was removal of its long range missiles, which would result in a war later anyway and the missiles were the key Netanyahu demand.

The situation right now favors Iran because it has demonstrated ability to stand strikes, is able to strike back, and is able to close the Strait at will now or in future. Iran has not lost its new strategic position which it attained before this ceasefire was enacted--it may even be stronger because it too has regrouped while the Americans/Israelis have regrouped. Multiple credible sources have said that China either has already supplied or about to supply some weapons in this ceasefire to Iran.

Have faith in Iran's resilience!

Yes. They ordered 160 or so with 140 on option. It would have been quite an air force.

And importantly for us, it appears we received our 40 As and Bs from the order they were unable to fulfil. I should have checked.

No talks with israelis will work. The new status quo will be reached by israeli casualties.
We will never know how much casualties they're suffering in Lebanon, but if they reach an "agreement" would be for whitewashing their military defeat again.
I will pray for Hizbollah's victory. If israelis win It gonna be soon another bloodshed.

No Iran didn't got tricked. There's no deal accepted yet. You can't be tricked without accepting anything.

Iranians, Israelis, Emiratis who aren't liking ceasefire please go ahead and keep getting bombed. But, It would be great to be in home country before asking for renewed aggression.

BTW Yes, US would not have ended the civilization (though it got all the means to do it), but could have easily killed tens of thousands of more Iranians. So I think tricked or not, atleast ceasefire helped Iranian people. Both sides need to climb down from their maximalist position for a deal, otherwise nothing is stopping United States to keep destroying Iranian universities, factories, industries while keeping Iran's power plants and oil facilities intact as a bargaining tactic.
