Trump holds 'emergency Situation Room' meeting as negotiations with Iran fall apart

President Donald Trump convened a Situation Room meeting on Saturday after Iran announced it was closing the Strait of Hormuz again, just one day after the Islamic Republic allowed other ships to pass through the route.

It looks like the battle could resume in a matter of days unless there is a breakthrough in peace negotiations, a senior US official told Axios. Despite Trump's aspirations to put an end to the conflict before the ceasefire closes on Tuesday, there is still no set timetable for negotiations to start this weekend.

JD Vance, Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth, and Scott Bessent were among the senior government officials who attended today's meeting.

Ukraine is not a member of NATO so I didn't expect NATO to intervene.
Ukraine is a NATO project and war, ultimately, so yes, I would expect NATO to intervene on its war project.
NATO is a defensive organization. The one time in NATO's existence article 5 was was used was by the USA in 2001.
If NATO is a defensive organization, why were many NATO members involved in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars? both wars weren't "defensive wars" , but NATO countries participated in them.
Iran didn't attack the United States The United States attacked Iran. So why would NATO intervene?
NATO was supposed to intervene, because its leader country ,US, requested the alliance to support it in its war with Iran , but they didnt ,which was essentially a mutiny against the US's leadership and control of NATO.

How will he manipulate market and enrich everyone around him then? His family and staff gets are all in it.

S&P 500 reached new high and come Monday some people will make a lot of money through some well "timed" trades.
Both sides do it my friend. That's what angers me. And they do it without shame.

NATO got involved in the Afghanistan/ Iraq wars because the US activated article 5.

Which by the way, the only time article 5 was ever invoked in the long history of the transatlantic alliance

So this means that if fighting between US and Iran continues at the same pace as the 1st round, Iran should be completely out of drones and missles in 40 days of renewed fighting- is that realistic? I don't think so.
