Islamabad Talks - News & Discussions

Man stop shilling for the Arab states. They're not giving you citizenship. I was born in one of them and they didn't give me either. Only Egypt is somewhat real. Rest are all fake states drawn up by the West. They are not worth fighting for online and their people look down upon Pakistanis anyway.

There is no badmashi either. All these Arab states are actively supporting action against Iran, with full consent. Don't we bomb Afghanistan for harbouring TTP? In similar fashion, Iran is bombing Arab states for harbouring hostile forces. There is no malice in this. Any logical military commander in Iran would bomb them.

Say there's an Island nation south of Pakistan. It gives its airspace and airports to house Indian Air Force jets and refuelers. Those Indian jets come and lob missiles at you. Tell me honestly what will you do? Will you give a damn for that Island's sovereignty?
As Pakistanis, we should approach Iran or the Arab states rationally, without allowing sectarian attachments to shape our understanding or definition of Pakistan’s position. In the end, the differences among us are far less significant than the shared interests...both internal and external...that serve the common goals of the region and beyond.

I feel pity on you for your sick-minded mentality. The Arab states give citizenship to some one or no one has nothing to do with respecting the sovereignty of those states.

Also, the case with Afghanistan is different. Taliban is not a representative or recognized government in Afghanistan. At best, they are warlords and at worst, which the case BTW, they are a terrorist group that is holding Afghanistan by the force of bullet. Taliban were engaged in talks by Pakistan, many a times involving other countries too, to dissuade them from sending terrorists into Pakistan. However, the shit of a Greater Afghanistan was pushed under their skulls by Hindutva terrorists. Even then, Pakistan did not bomb Afghanistan indiscriminately. Only their terror infrastructure was targeted.

Iran has no right to violate the sovereignty of Arab states. Having a good or bad government is none of your or Iranians business. It's the sole right of their own citizens.
They allowed their land to have bases made by Americans - these bases were used to attack a sovereign nation. This nation has therefore the right to defend itself. Is that so difficult to understand?
These arab states are sitting on the same side as Israel. Sit back and let that sink in.

President Trump is giving Iran's warring factions a short window to unify behind a coherent counter-offer — or the ceasefire he extended Tuesday ends, three U.S. officials tell Axios.
  • "Trump is willing to give another three to five days of ceasefire to allow the Iranians to get their shit together," one U.S. source briefed on the matter said. "It is not going to be open-ended."
Why it matters: Trump's negotiators believe a deal to end the war and address what's left of Iran's nuclear program is still achievable. But they also worry they may not have anyone in Tehran empowered to say yes.
  • Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is barely communicating. The IRGC generals now in control of the country and Iran's civilian negotiators are openly at odds over strategy.
  • "We saw that there is an absolute fracture inside Iran between the negotiators and the military — with neither side having access to the supreme leader, who is not responsive," a U.S. official said.
Behind the scenes: U.S. officials first began to see the divisions after the first round of Islamabad talks, when it became clear IRGC commander Gen. Ahmad Vahidi and his deputies had rejected much of what Iran's own negotiators had discussed.

  • The split broke into the open last Friday. When Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the IRGC refused to implement it — and began publicly attacking him.
  • In the days that followed, Iran gave no substantive response to the latest U.S. proposal and refused to commit to a second round of talks in Pakistan.
The intrigue: The fracture is partly a consequence of Israel's March assassination of Ali Larijani, the previous secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.
  • Larijani had the authority and political weight to hold Iran's decision-making together.
  • His replacement, Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr — whose job is to coordinate between the IRGC, civilian leadership and the supreme leader — is not effective, a U.S. official said.

IRGC will get in line...with a little bit of what I know , I am not worried.

If I was the foreign minister this would be a nice nuanced stance to have.

However since I'm not, Arabs are goy cattle slaves.

They are actively aiding Operation Epic Fury and the Israeli Air Campaign. By all rules of the game they are legitimate targets.

Wrong! whether you like or hate Saudis and MBS, but this much is very true that had MBS decided to join the illegal war efforts actively and responded to iranian aggression, israel would have killed millions of innocent iranians, that would have given them the perfect excuse to commit the genocide of iranians. And iranian missiles are not causing any major harm to zionist state, else they would not keep violating the ceasefire and be happy to resume anytime soon. All these Pakistani efforts and Saudi patience has enable to halt a genocide and suffering of millions of others who will end up being indirect victims of this war.

Adding two pieces of news.

1. Israeli Foreign Minister Saar: Israel has always been unwavering in the fight against terrorism. We will continue to strengthen cooperation with India, resolutely respond to this threat, and promote peace, security, and stability.

2. According to Al Jazeera, University of Tehran professor Tohid Asadi stated that regarding the ceasefire, we have received both positive and negative signals from Iran. Tehran has indicated that they will not negotiate under imposed conditions and terms. Comparing the initial 10-point and 15-point proposals put forward by Iran and the U.S., it is clear that the positions of the two sides are far apart. Tehran's distrust of the U.S., along with military rhetoric that may accompany failed negotiations, casts a shadow over the current atmosphere. This is a warning, indicating that another round of confrontation may be imminent. Tehran still plans to use the Strait of Hormuz as a lever and bargaining chip in negotiations. It is attempting to exercise jurisdiction over ships passing through this strategically important waterway. Iran stated that the basis of its foreign policy actions—especially concerning Israel—is 'either everyone is safe, or no one is safe.'

Thanks to President Trump, the Muslim world has found a rare opportunity to come together. They need to develop a collective personality with a collective wisdom to form a collective military and diplomatic strategy to put forth a collective front to go for a collective baegain and negotiation with the USA....

I am pretty sure President Trump, being a businessman first and foremost, would appreciate it.....

So following this same logic, Pakistan should have lodged missiles at Chah Bahar? It was used or may still be in use to commit terrorist activities inside Pakistan. iran sat on the same side as india. This is on record, iran has supported indian stance on IIOK in the past, has defended and helped india in Muslim fora.

UAE picked the wrong side the losing side

Just admit it and move on

Rather than trying to justify anything

Iranians on tv blaming Pakistan as mediator. IRGC is terrorist entity with death wish. Either Iran come to table or become Afghanistan. The world will recover in few years of reduced oil/gas but Iran will be irreparably damaged.

As if US/Israel needed their permission to use their airspace or they had the capability to stop it by force. Shed your non-sense.

There is no justification for attacking other sovereign states unless they declare (or will potentially declare) a war against Iran.
Do you understand how contradictory your post is? On one hand you claim Israel and US does not need permission and on the other you talk about sovereignity. What sovereignity? If you are going to let your airspace to be used to bomb another country, be prepared to get attacked in return. Period!

Man, to test the patience of the one country in the region that did not allow US bases and condemned the attack on Iran, despite heavy pressure from Gulf states to side with them.

I think Iranians have made Pakistan look like fools now
