Pakistan-Saudi Arabia mutual defense pact: News & Discussion

My guess is Egyptians are out, especially after they sent Rafales to UAE....

The Egyptians are compromised and have been for decades

UAE offered the same thing to Egypt as it did to Pakistan, but Pakistan refused

Rather then plan for the future, Egypt is just inserting itself deeper into the Zionist hole

Yes, day will inevitably come when Israel takes Sinai from them....

Egypt sits at critical position, controlling the Suez canal (which should have name change)

Muslim world sits on very geo strategic locations and controlling those positions would change our world

Egypt's ego go in the way, they wanted to the "lead", where the any new forum has to be based on consensus and equality of all.

From a perspective of size, civilisation and war performance against Israel they could have rightly taken their place as leaders of the Arab world, Nasser arguably the bravest modern Arab leader ever. 2 things f**ked them

1) Abandoning the Nuke programme
2) Peace treaty with Israel

Both done to please America, the cost of that was them not being taken seriously anymore, UAE just dialling them up to fight in Yemen or protect the airspace over Duabi's hotels....

Egypt didn't lose anything by signing the peace treaty , she got back Sinai peninsula....Sadaat accepted the reality....we can fight Israel but we can't fight America.

They basically surrendered, yes, got back Sinai but at cost of allowing Israeli regional hegemony.

When you know you can't win the war then what's the point of false bravado.... besides , Egypt was disappointed by the performance and attitude of other Arab countries.

Right or wrong, and they had their reasons, but outcome is they are a paper tiger of a military with no nukes. Pakistan stood its ground

UAE has gone to India now

seems like UAE, Israel and India will work together to fight their enemies. Pakistan needs to watch out for Jets and ships coming from UAE as well as India.

UAE really taking the contrarian position.

To play the devil's advocate, UAE's position as an anti-Iran alliance makes more sense than the Pakistani one. Who are we making a pact for? Iran? UAE-Israel-India?

Will be interesting to see how these pacts pan out.

Qatar's situation is not much different than UAE, small country with small local population with no appetite for war or conflict but massive natural resources and rich nation, but given Qatar now has militaries from many countries, like America, Turkey (was planning i think?), French, so adding Pakistan will be complicated, now unless in coming days if America reduce its presence in Middle east which i don't see it happening, this might be a bit complicated thing. Plus Pakistan promising forces, Sq of fighter jets to a country without making sure that our own strength doesn't lack behind is also a concern, if reports are true than we already send 18 fighters to KSA without replacing them in Pakistan, we are already short of Sq compared to India, and if we send 1-2 sq for KSA/Qatar we will compromise our own security given the hostile nature of Galeez qoum next to us.
Now unless the new J-10CE's numbers are increased to 60-80, and we get 1-2 more JF-17's sqs I don't see much coming out of this Qatar joining the PACT, or maybe it will take couple of years before Pakistan is in position to spare jets, AD systems and troops for Qatar.
