This is a topic to discuss the sufi experiences of the PDF community.

I'm of a barelvi background but until recently never had a sufi guide. I'm new to this world and wondered if anyone else in this community is associated with a tariqah or has a Pir?

Please - this is not the place for religious discussion and if you want to issue fatwas please refrain. I just want to discuss people's personal journeys, explore the cultural and spiritual aspects, maybe share poetry, history, teachings etc.

Someone has copied the poetry of Mia Muhammad Baksh, the famous Saif ul mulooq.

You can read the Punjabi, the transliteration and the translation.

In Mirpur, AJK, Potwar, North Punjab, mian Saabs poetry is like gospel. It is a shame that it only penetrates the ears of most and not the hearts. Alas poetry alone cannot revive hearts turned to stone, that is the work of Durood sharif.

I saw this tiktok where Habib Ali Al Jifri mentions the seven levels of the nafs.

It made me think how huge the gap between level 1 and 2 are. For those without tiktok I've shared a screenshot.

I think if most of are honest we're at level 1, flicking to 2 in a good moment.

@Musing @Waz @RescueRanger @Fatman17 @GriffinsRule please close this thread because lots of people doesn't like barilvi sect here including me, so this thread is become troll feast and flame baiting sooner than later so it's better to close this thread , thanks

This is a deviant sect and practice stuff outside of what the Prophet came with.

You people are welcome to take your opinions elsewhere. I'm not going to discuss anything with you.

The vast majority of Pakistanis have barelvi heritage - your opinions on them is irrelevant. Sufism and it's practices have shaped Pakistan for centuries and continue to do those.

This thread is for those who wish to talk about it's history, culture and thier personal experience.

If that's not you - jog on. This forum is not a place for religious debate

Ofcourse we will comment on it.

Keep the trash in the trash can

Did our prophet (PBUH) preached sufism? and sufism is comparable to Christianity Rehbaniat (tark-e-dunya) this is not allowed in Islam by our Prophet (PBUH)

and barelvi sect was created by goras to disguised rest of thee Muslims, you guys said that we fond of our prophet (PBUH) but no where near preaching of Allah and Prophet (PBUH), often give the status of Ghouse- e- pak (abdul qadar jilani) bigger than all prophets (AS) and sometime they gave bigger status than Allah (naozobilliah)

Barelvis disguise sect, to proves Iot of proof for you

idkk about barelvis
but no one can deny the impact of sufism has had on our land
i like sufism's the spiritual message
the message about islam is not just pray 5 times a day and fasts but something greater( not sying you shouldnt pray )
but again their is a lot of stuoid shit too but to each thier own ig

@313Ghazi
This is based on the blessed hadith.
It was narrated on the authority of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

While we were one day sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), there appeared before us a man dressed in extremely white clothes and with very black hair. No traces of journeying were visible on him, and none of us knew him. He sat down close by the Prophet (peace be upon him), rested his knee against his thighs, and said, "O Muhammad! Inform me about Islam."

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Islam is that you should testify that there is no deity except Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger, that you should perform salah, pay the Zakah, fast during Ramadan, and perform Hajj to the House, if you are able to do so."

The man said, "You have spoken truly." We were astonished at his questioning him (the Messenger) and telling him that he was right, but he went on to say, "Inform me about iman."

He (the Messenger of Allah) answered, "It is that you believe in Allah and His angels and His Books and His Messengers and in the Last Day, and in qadar (fate), both in its good and in its evil aspects." He said, "You have spoken truly."

Then he (the man) said, "Inform me about Ihsan." He (the Messenger of Allah) answered, "It is that you should serve Allah as though you could see Him, for though you cannot see Him yet (know that) He sees you."

So Islam is Fiqh, Iman is Creed/Aqeedah and Ishan is Tasawuff or as some call it sufism ie based on Ashab us Suffah, for example some people during Prophet peace be upon him time shuned the world and spent most of their time worshipping Allah almighty and learning to love Prophet peace be upon him.

But nothing was separate from Islam, its just a speciality branch where you concentrate on destroying your ego and trying to increase spirituality.

Turkish TV serial based on Ihsan/Tasawuff, 700+ years ago. Yunus Emre. 2 season long but absolutely amazing. @hasssanali8998 I think you will love this.

Sufism when it doesn’t include grave worship or visiting shrines so they act as intermediaries between you and God or other forms of shirk is ok. Modern Sufism is unfortunately associated with shirk which is the single most unforgivable sin.

As a general rule of thumb, stay away from these sects and labeling. Follow the Sunnah and the Quran. Nothing good comes out of factionalism in Islam.
