Pakistan Air Force | News & Discussions

Given that in both conflicts of 2019 and 2025, it was Vipers and J10C taking the lead, and getting the kills, it makes you wonder what's the point in inducting further JF17s, or even developing more advanced versions? Clearly the light weight fighter platform may not be best suited given the threat we're facing. It's very unlikely we'll see any WVR air combat again in the sub continent, which is essentially what the JF17 was designed for. It's a useful tool against Afghanistan and insurgents, but it seems to be taking a backseat against the eastern threat. I would focus on further J10Cs and work towards the J35.

JF-17s make up numbers, if it had been a longer war the few J-10Cs would have had a hard and busy time.

Also, J-10s freed up JF-17s to take out S-400, which is of course very risky work.....
