Islamabad Talks - News & Discussions

Yet in both eras, Pakistan’s role has largely been underplayed internationally. The reality is that very few countries can maintain enough trust with opposing powers to act as a credible middle ground. Pakistan has repeatedly shown it can do exactly that but rarely receives the recognition it deserves for shaping major diplomatic moments behind the scenes.

As I often said here: There are two things which work best in Pakistan: The Pakistan Air Force and the Pakistan Foreign Office.
It is not only the current Iran vs America/Israel war or the Pakistani role in the America-China realignment (1970/71). Pakistan also played a major role in ending the hostage crisis between Iran/America in 1979/80, also played at least some role in ending the Iran-Iraq war (1980-88), played a major role in the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan in 1989, a major role in the US withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. And maybe there are such roles!

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday reiterated that Pakistan remained the “primary interlocutor” in Washington’s negotiations with Iran aimed at ending the ongoing conflict.

“The primary interlocutor on this has been Pakistan and continues to be and they’ve done a, you know, I think an admirable job. And that’s what we continue to work through,” Rubio told reporters in Sweden after meetings with NATO allies.

“Obviously, other countries, you know, have interests because especially Gulf countries that are, you know, in the middle of all this, may have their own situation going on. We talk to all of them. But I would just say that the primary country we’ve been working with on all of this is Pakistan, and that remains the case,” he said.

I respect Rubio's words much more than a thing Trump or Netanyahu say. Their words mean nothing to do; when their lips move, I know they are lying. As simple as that.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said talks between Iran and the United States were continuing through Pakistan as a mediator, with both sides having exchanged responses to a recent Iranian proposal.

'Slight progress' made on Iran, Strait of Hormuz situation: Rubio

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Friday there had been “some slight progress” regarding the situation involving Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.

“There's been some slight progress, I don't want to exaggerate it, but there's been a little bit of movement, and that's good,” Rubio told reporters ahead of a NATO foreign ministers meeting alongside NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

Rubio said the “fundamentals remain the same,” adding: “Iran can never have nuclear weapons, it just cannot make them.”

He said Washington was awaiting the outcome of ongoing discussions related to Iran while underlining that issues surrounding uranium enrichment and Tehran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium would have to be addressed.

If the recent round of talks failed then its obvious that the dama dam mast Qaladar will resume, all parties like US/Israel/Iran and UAE has had enough time to relocate, reload, and position their troops, I can see that this time UAE will be taking part in Attacks openly.

That will be the end of the UAE and Dubai in specific. If this is a real war, and Iran and the USA are truly going at each other, and if the UAE takes part openly, Iran will flatten every single building in the entire UAE. They will take Burk Khalifa down and the Emaratis might have to go back to being fishermen like they used to be.

Whoever is advising UAE rulers should be shot immediately if the UAE wants to remain what UAE is.

During the Iran-Iraq war, according to the history, Iraq was firing missiles into Iran, and Iran had no response to it and had to take it. The helplessness that Iran experienced against those Iraqi missiles left very deep scars in the Iranian psyche. They will chop UAE into pieces in order to quence that feeling of helplessness if the UAE joins the attack openly.

Don't forget the Pakistan Post, it also works, which is a miracle in itself given corruption ridden society at every level and every step of the way. You can ship a package to a rural village in Pakistan from Canada and it will reach the intended destination without even a scrarch on the package.

do you think that Israel or Bibi or Trump gives a shish about UAE? they (Emirati) thinks that Israel/US is their real friends when they are only using them, UAE will attack Iran in case of war resumes and yes they will be hammered but the real culprit of all this chaos (Israel) will get some minor damage and that's it.

Sir do you really think Israel care for world's economy or what happen to some poor countries? Nope, they are crazy lunatic nation with nuclear weapons and full control of USA radical right wing govt, they are push by religion ideology and they won't stop at nothing until Greater Israel is created or their Alleged "Messiah" appears.

After winning the war Iran has thrown the towel ...no nukes ever , Hormuz open for all no toll.... Hezbollah will get pounded and disarmed.
