We can strengthen our chances of this deal holding by cutting all military/intel assistance to Israel, they took every opportunity to tank this deal & will likely do so again unless we take action.

We should also quietly get our troops out of the bases in the Gulf that can be reached by Iran. This ensures Iranian hardliners can’t strike us to drag us back into the fight.

Take away every factor that we can control that could force us back into the war on Israel or Iran’s terms.

I still cannot see how this will workout. Iran without sanctions will become 10x powerful, more missile cities, missiles, airforce, navy etc. Israel will never accept this, they are already crying about Turkey. Also Israel will continue to bomb Lebanon and Gaza which will lead to problems between Iran and Israel. Anyways very unusual from the Usa, learning from history ie Libya, Syria, Iraq and others, Usa dismantled those who challenged them. Ofcourse all old Iranian leadership has been assassinated but I believe nothing had changed from Iran side unless I am wrong and Iran is willing to give and take.

Israel will have to accept any decisions America makes for them. Already, Israel is being squeezed by Turkey via Syria, Hezbollah via Lebanon, Houthis via Yemen, Pakistan via Saudi Arabia, and of course by the Iranian missiles. Those are the geographic realities which even the Americans can undo short of many nukes.
And this was not America's war to begin with. As I have said many times: This was a personal war waged by two men: Netanyahu and Trump. Now Trump has realized his folly and is moving back.

VP JD Vance is the architect of this MoU, and the next fight is Capitol Hill. Fat chance for that. During the Gaza war, 19 Democratic Senators voted to block arms shipment to Iran. During this war, 38 Dem Senators did that. And recently 4 Republican Reps joined hands with Dems in the House on the War Powers Act.

Have you been following the fatigue and disillusionment about the extended naval deployments in north Arabian Sea? And maybe there is some truth in the so-called 'Laundry Fires'. Only the Russians shove people as cannon fodders into wars. Least of all, a Western nation like America would do that. The days of massive land invasions, taking on casualties, or even taking the nuisances of 'being deployed' are rapidly ending not only in the Western world but in all of humanity. And we should be all grateful for that.

The NY Times screen cap I posted just above has a strange mention of Trump appreciating the roles of China and Russia in this conflict. Almost seems like came out of nowhere. We know that the Iranian and the Pakistani officials have been going to China and the Iranians have also gone to Russia. Still I didn't see dots connected.
Pretty interesting to know why Trump said that! Much happens in backdoor diplomacy!!

And really some times truth is more interesting then fiction: Look up the partially unclassified accounts of Nixon's visit to China via Pakistan in the early 70s and what Kissinger wrote about that in his notebooks. Fascinating!
