US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

The story, which cites US officials who are for whatever reason choosing this moment to 'leak' the insider info, begins in the following:

In early 2024, the rector of a university in Budapest received a startling request from a top Hungarian government official.

The official told the rector, Professor Gergely Deli, that Ludovika University of Public Service should hold a climate change conference and extend an invitation to an unlikely guest: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the widely reviled former president of Iran.

Even more shocking was the reason. The official told Mr. Deli that the conference was merely a front for Mr. Ahmadinejad to have secret discussions in Budapest with intelligence operatives from Israel, Mr. Ahmadinejad’s avowed enemy.

This isn't the first time the NY Times has floated this story, but the publication is now seeking to fill in more details, apparently.

Amid the ongoing fog of war and heavy propaganda coming from all sides, this could simply by mythology - Hollywood script style - in order to continue sowing fragmentation, distrust, and discord among Iranian ranks. It wouldn't be the first time such a tall tale was spun for such purposes, and the whole thing ultimately will remain unverifiable, for likely at least years to come.

It was the 10th time the Senate has tried to stop the war, and the outcome, on a vote of 50-48, was a stunning turnaround from past efforts. While the resolution is largely symbolic, and does not fully carry the force of law
So that's the answer to my question, 10 debates!

Not just the 77 million, but even more, given that Iran has not exactly endeared itself to the US voting public for the last half century.
It's not a matter of endearment, Americans love war and genocide, they've been doing it across the world for 250 years. Yet I keep seeing posts that the American people want nothing to do with this war...

Your grasp of American history needs some work.

If I am wrong, then enlighten me. Was the extermination of Native Americans not genocide? What exactly was America doing across South America and the Philippines during the 19th and 20th centuries? Spreading love and peace on Earth?
It is true it became more gauche after WW2 so then they had to pivot to indirectly helping puppet governments do it, such as in Indonesia and Guatemala. But they got so good at that, that they set up an entire school for it at Fort Benning!
So what part of my grasp on American history do I need to work on?

Americans love war and genocide

Oh really? Is that why we stopped what was happening in Bosnia, for example? Oh forget it, let us not go off topic.

Please continue to think of Americans as you wish to; we will do our own thing just fine. :D

Just another product of half a century of indoctrination, nothing else. Meh.

One way or another, whether internally or externally motivated, Iran will see it as prudent to change a few policies.

And soon, it seems.

American hatred of Muslims is only a close second to its hatred of communism. If Milosevic had embraced the free market, the US would have set up an air bridge overnight to arm him.

Exactly, everyone is indoctrinated but you.

It's sad that you can't see how malicious this statement is. It's hard to blame you too much, you have been indoctrinated to view human life as worthless.

Yeah, I don't see that happening anytime soon without there being some event that will result in an agreement being reached. The current approach right now is nothing more than market manipulation.

That is just a side effect. There is a slow and steady attrition of Iran's offensive capabilities underway. It will be effective soon enough.
