Makkah Joint Defense Agreement: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, news & updates

Then why is Iran not part of this alliance then? If it is not anti-Shia?
Iran has been calling for Muslim nato for a while now but Iran cannot be part of this pact, because they are in a war with the Usa and Israel. Muslims need to align their international policies, come to some kind of agreement and then the pact can be expanded. Soon Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Azerbaijan can join, they are already allies with Turkey and Saudia. When Egypt joins, Jordan who is Egyptian ally will be next. UAE is for the future.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan addressed regional issues during his participation in the “Editors’ Table” platform of Anadolu Agency:

◄ Fidan stated that the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement is technically equivalent to Article 5 of the NATO Treaty regarding collective defense.

◄ He pointed out that the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement does not specify any specific “common threat.”

◄ Fidan added: “There is no country that does not attack us that is considered a target for us under the Joint Defense Agreement in Mecca.”

◄ The Turkish Foreign Minister clarified that Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey, signatories to the joint defense agreement in Mecca, are not expansionist countries.

◄ He stressed that President Erdogan’s vision aims to expand the joint defense agreement in Mecca beyond the three countries, and could include all countries of the region under this framework if necessary.

◄ Fidan said that the agreement will include military exercises and training sessions, noting that this is inherent in the nature of joint military alliances. Without it, operational compatibility or the ability to operate uniformly cannot be demonstrated.

◄ He expressed his belief that Egypt will also be part of the agreement in the next stage.

Who will command the joint forces ?

we aren't allies to al-saud , and we aren't allies to UAE.

sisi is an ally to uae not the egyptian army or the egyptian people and all our gears that was sent to uae we got it back.
So Egypt is like a regional power with its own allies etc, similar to Saudia, Turkey, UAE, Qatar and Iran, all have their own allies and interests, one supports Muslim Brotherhood, one ISIS and Salafi terrorists, one the Hizbollah Houthi types and one secular/nationalist types.

It will have leadership, exercises, etc
Just like NATO

Turkish Foreign Minister: There will be a ministerial committee within the framework of the Mecca Agreement similar to NATO
I hope alliance won't bog down in cumbersome procedures and red tapes.

We have a different case in Egypt , yes sisi and his morons are against MB but they are also against gulf countries , they just show they are like brothers to them but deep inside they hate gulfies to the gut, there is a famous leaked phone call of Sisi insulting gulf countries and calling half countries and they are just bags of rice (Money).

I'm a morsi supporter , does that make me automatically a Turkey-lover? No , I don't like Turkey with its movements against muslims , especially in this alliace.

I agree with you that Muslim could not unite in this way to protect Gaza from genocide. It’s sad and something needs to be done about it.

But Muslim nations first need to protect themselves before thinking of protecting others.

Unfortunately no Muslim nation of the world is powerful enough to protect others. This hybrid combination of (strong military of Pakistan + advanced technology of Turkey and half trillion dollar reserves of Saudis) can help in foundations of strong military force for Muslim world. More nations can be added later but that should not be immediately goal of these founding members
Its as I said before, lets look at this as a step forward theres a long way to go but unity must start from somewhere.

You have created all this post to justify lies ..

Read about 1971 in my post..were there any Pakistani troops in KSA???
I can reply with a more severe tone than yourself, calling me a lier as a moderator shows your level. Like I said nothing comes for free, Pakistan has done more than enough for Saudis, by sending 10,000s troops to train and defend Saudia for decades, you done no favours, we are not your slaves. Today again Saudia legs are shaking and now theyre signing defence pact to protect themselves but Pakistanis only concern is we dont want our troops to fight Saudi illegitimate wars in Yemen, Libya and elsewhere, already 10,000s died due to terrorism in Syria. Otherwise Pakistan has always called for muslim nations to stop fighting each other and come together to defend themselves.

I will only believe that its independent and meaningful if Iran joins this. Turkey is in nato, Saudi has American bases , Pakistan sucks up to Trump left right and centre at the moment. All 3 at times side with the cnsortium of evil from the west

We need a true alliance of Muslim nations we need to be bigger than our differences as we have far more in common than that what divides us and our enemies take advantage.

There is no such thing as true Muslims. Those passed away a very very long time ago. We don't qualify for very much. This is the best we got and yes it is very cumbersome.

Nevertheless, it is the best possible scenario in the current circumstances.

I don't fully understand why Iran is crying over this.. What is the downside to them?

Iran also has ambitions and interests. Yes, they do collide with Pakistan, Türkiye and KSA sometimes.

By the way, Iran will continue to do business with India as far as Chabahar goes. Another collision point.

Interests don't always align and even during the times of the prophet PBUH and thereafter many conflicts and collisions took place. This time is no different.

Why are so many Pakistanis residing in western nations always talk in interest of Iran but will never think about moving to Iran?
Pakistan also feel the same about Gaza, and if any other arab country was getting bombed by Usa and Israel we will be supporting them aswell, Saudia isn't even getting bombed and Pakistanis are already laying in front of the Al Sauds but we choose to close our eyes over that. Pakistanis also sent pilots to defend arabs during Israeli Arab wars.

Yes they will, they are close to Russia and India, and Saudia also have 40B trade with India v Iran 2B, Saudi and GCC have millions of Indian workers.
