Joint Defense Agreement: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, news & updates

Add Syria to the list. Israelis are out to grab fertile land. As if Golan Heights wasn't enough, in the name of security, they have just grabbed a chunk of good land more from Syria.

Yes, looking at some Israeli media, they rightly see this new alliance as threat to Israel and are talking about these weird alliances of their own. They even including the UAE in that alliance.

I don't know if they're are trolls or indians and other enemies pretending to be Pakistanis but there seems to be alot of posters who are allegedly Pakistani saying that the Mekkah agreement should not have gone ahead and have insinuated that Pakistan should appease israel. UNLESS you have NOT been on earth for the past 3 years, we KNOW FULL WELL where appeasement of israel leads to.

If Iran's primary geopolitical goal was to help the Palestinians since 1979, then let the Arab countries and an alliance like this new one take care of it. Pass on the baton! No point repeating a policy which has not done enough in a half century. Instead, work with this alliance and regional countries to help the Palestinians. Work to build itself a modern nation with a single chain of command and focused policies. It will do the region and the Iranians good.

This alliance has introduced potentially more nukes to a volatile region and better not destroy the region itself to help a few million Palestinians, as much most of this forum and most of the world would want to help.

No, he was Agnostic Muslim. I believe you have to perform certain acts to be Shia which he never did.

Jinnah never expressed a single doubt about God, so "Agnostic" is out of the question........ And you don't become Shia only by performing certain acts, it's a belief system... Non practicing is not agnostic....... Jinnah, born into a Shia Khoja Ismaili household, formally joined the Shia Isna Ashari Jamaat in 1901, married and was buried under Shia rites, and wrote his will under Shia law.....

Jinnah was a non-practicing, secularized Muslim of Shia legal affiliation who deliberately refused sectarian labels in public........A nominal Shia, personally non-observant, who publicly maintained a strictly non-sectarian stance, working to unite Indian Muslims under a general Muslim identity rather than a divisive sectarian one....

There are indeed many Pakistanis in this forum whose views weirdly align with Indian views. They are too blinded by Pakistan's domestic politics to be objective about even foreign affairs. We will end up derailing this thread if we go there.

Slightly OT but in Stanley Wolpert's book on Jinnah, he said this was because of Jinnah's double minority status eg not only was he part of the minority religious community, but he was also part of the minority sect in that religion. This made him very conscious of who he was and an easy target for pigeon-holing or dismissal, so he tried appealing first on a non-religious, and then later on a non-sectarian basis to his people.

Secularism was also the norm for political leaders back then. We forget that political Islam is mostly a post 1970's phenomenon, following the failure of post-colonial secular movements and political parties to satisfy their people's demands.

Some sane Muslim voices from Bharat even though their antagonism toward Pakistan is well trenched.....

Iranians only went underground because they had no effective advanced air-defence capability. Instead of developing sophisticated air defences to protect their critical facilities, they chose to put them underground.

In other words, they put much of their effort into building a massive offensive capability at the expense of effective surface and aerial defence.

I think they must have believed that their large stockpiles of missiles would be sufficient to deter the US and Israel. But putting all your eggs in one basket is never a good policy.
Bro , this is unwarranted street level critisism of Iranian defense posture...air defence architecture requires far more sophisticated technology than offensive weapons like missiles and drones.... given all the sanctions and restrictions and Iran being third world developing country she couldn't have done any better than what she has done.... there are many other aspects of Iranian policies that we can criticise but not this one.

You don't think Stanley WOLPERT may have been biased? Look at the origin of the surname WOLPERT.

Thank you. Certainly brings something new into this because of Turkey's geography and is right in saying the most worried are the Israelis but is wrong is saying that the Indian diaspora in Saudi Arabia limits Saudi's options against India.
Also, it appears to me that the Turks are most against India after Pakistanis (and maybe Bangladeshis too). Maybe Pakistan is 'Mughals' to them!
PS. The video is better worth watching on You Tube itself with Audio Dubbed. FYI.

We give shelter and have plenty of Afghanis that we have shared bread with and then turn round and blame us for their situation today. Assimilating and living amongst us. They dont realise they stuck out so clearly as they cant hide their bitterness.
Hope that helps

Will this pact actually be used? Previously when Pakistan faced attacks from afghanistan saudi didn't provide any support

Most threats these countries will face themselves

Just because Afghanistan or Taliban fire a few drones, doesn't mean we immediately panic and invoke the pact and ask Saudi and Turkey for a million soldiers or something daft

We can handle India and Afghanistan

If a critical war breaks out then we will expect support whether it be diplomatic or material
Only if things turn critical will we expect anyone to send actual forces

We have got to get it out of our heads that every fart in the wind will mean alliance countries will pounce to action

That's not nice..
Turkey shall get an equal piece of the pie .

Turkey may even benefit the most it's product's are more developed

Pakistan too have multiple projects, and funding and purchases will support production and development

Tech support from China and Turkey and even Saudi will be critical and could transform our defence industry
