PAF should integrate drones to its AEWCS aircraft. Drone mounted sensors would increase the surveillance reach beyond the horizon and can be sent to patrol near the border and close to enemy SAMS reach.....

The Akinci has a radar sensor (MURAD 100-A AESA Radar) that can be utilised and PAF operates the type already. Not sure if it is integrated with the Erieye or not( ie does Akinci support Link-16 ?)

I was thinking this because we have heard numerous times about the height limitation on Erieyes because of turboprops. High flying drones can really compliment them...

General Aviation Aerodrome has been completed..
~2 billion Rs worth phase one is operational now and 7 billion Rs phase 2 is ongoing. It was completed in three years to replace Walton airport in Lahore, which got converted into Central business district (CBD) in 2021.
Project details :
* Runway length 6,000 ft/width 100ft
* 2 taxiways
* Rigid apron
* Aircraft hangars
* ATC tower and night landing
* terminal building and RFFS
Its spread over 500 acres and run by Pakistan airports authority (PAA). King Edward Medical University is also establishing a green field campus adjacent to it. Due to motorway interchange nearby, travel distance from Lahore is under one hour.
Its situated 16 km east of Muridke town, where India
conducted air strikes on 7th may 2025 during operation Sindoor !
What do you think, how it will help flying clubs and training of pilots in Pakistan for expanding aviation industry. Is that kind of location ideal within 16 km of international border for civil infrastructure of national importance?

Unfortunately, they do not understand that communication channels between OEM and customer in this case involve a decent number of custom liasons sitting on-site with the OEM.

It's being used by the flying clubs right now. A big problem with GA in Lahore was that a student could not even be shown the horizon on his first day to practice basic turns. You're IFR from Hour 1. Going outside the city helps with that.
However it's too close to the border for doing much else.

One of the historical identities of Khanpur Airport is that it was previously known as Khanpur Airport, which is now completely unknown to the new generation.
A few interesting facts about Khanpur Airport:

Khanpur Airport was officially given the code PK-0014 in the International Civil Aviation Records.
Runway 4/22:
There was a single runway here, which was called 4/22 (40 degrees and 220 degrees facing due to compass).
Usage:
This airport was primarily used for small private aircraft, VIPs, and for specific official or military arrivals and departures. The last time military aircraft landed here was probably during the Musharraf era.
Where is it now?
With the active operation of Sheikh Zayed International Airport in Rahim Yar Khan, Khanpur Airport was permanently closed.
Today, it is only alive in old aviation documents and pages of history. Its runway still exists.
