Joint Defense Agreement: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, news & updates

Nobody declared it a "sunni alliance" EXCEPT for the house of epstein.
Do not be deceived into describing some "difference" that exists only in the mind of your enemy.

Watched only first ten minutes of this video of great Elijah Magnier. Wow! The guy even covered the 80s Iran-Iraq war as a journalist based in Iran! I wish I had the time to watch this whole video but some points:
The alliance has given a formal shape to what's been discussed for years. This not against America but more of a message of disappointment to the Americans. But Israelis are not happy with this alliance. Pakistan and Turkey--both have strong ties with Iran. Pakistan and Turkey will try to mediate the conflict with Yemen.

Yeah Libya and Syria owe a great deal to Turks, and i see no reason why these 2 countries build stronger ties with Turks as they are not only economic power but also military power, and we have seen that Turks will take actions not just words to protect its national interest, Libya has been in chaos and it deserve a bigger role in Islamic world, i hope too see Liyba one day become as powerful and prospoer as it was before the civil war, and hopefully join this Agreement and play a position role. Egypt is strong/powerful and bring a lot to the table but its leadership is very sissy.

Turkiye backed morsi and when morsi came into power he was moving egypt towards an alliance with Turkiye.

Hakan Fidan was actually sent to warn Morsi that Sisi was plotting a coup against him and as it turned out it was too little too late.

The zionists are working day and night to divide muslims against each other. Where i think Turks and Pakistanis probably should invest heavily in is their intelligence assets/network.

Turkish/Pakistani intelligence assets should be flooded across the entire Middle east to counter mossad/cia/mi5 etc.

Because if we know one thing, their intelligence assets are embedded within every Muslim nation on earth. They are the most corrosive element to Muslim unity and prosperity. And when i say embedded i mean in all walks of life, from politics, to the judiciary, the media, the armies etc.

I don't know much about the Turkiye connection with Morsi but when west supports a Dictator you know that they are looking after their own interest rather than the country, so i am not surprised that Egypt didn't join or was invited.
First step of this agreement should be creating a joint command, the leadership should rotate between the 3 nations, create a force that have stations in each countries, joint exercises and strategies only for the eyes of Pak-KSA-Turks.
We need Intelligence gathering assets in air, sea and land, by any means necessary. Submarines that patrol the seas, human intelligence, and dedicated sqs of modern fighter jets that will respond quickly without getting stuck in paper work. All 3 countries must create a powerful diplomatic front, Pakistan can definitely use that in its war against terrorism and expose Indian/UAE connection to BLA/TTP via Afghanistan, Joint projects must be launched, here Turkiye will shine as they have the most domestic projects running that are very useful for defensive and offensive punch for this joint command, KSA can bring much needed funds/dollars, all three countries needs to increase its strategic oil reserves, drone production and guided/unguided rocket launching systems like Fateh series of Pakistan.

I really hope that each country will put their honest effort, because only then others will be compelled to join or else this will not go anywhere and turned into yet another useless OIC like organization.

India has plenty of security and military agreements with Russia, the United States and Israel.

With Russia, it has the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Military and Military-Technical Cooperation, regular joint military exercises such as INDRA, major defence-production and technology-transfer programmes, and longstanding cooperation in weapons development and procurement.

With the United States, India has signed the four major foundational defence agreements — LEMOA, COMCASA, BECA and the Industrial Security Annex — providing for logistical support, secure military communications, geospatial intelligence and defence-industrial cooperation.

With Israel, India has extensive defence and security cooperation covering weapons systems, missile and air defence, UAVs, counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, technology transfer and joint defence development; in February 2026, the two countries elevated their relationship to a Special Strategic Partnership, explicitly expanding cooperation in defence and security.

The way things are panning out in Western, Central and Southern Asia, they're likely to deepen their existing security and military cooperation with Israel even further.

India is non-aligned in name only.

None of those are defense treaties, only cooperation treaties on buying and developing weapons.

Erdagon not messing around. I think before 2027 we may well see more members. If we can genuinely convince countries the defence mechanism will work for everyone you may well see a stampede to join.

Increasingly this looks like an Anti-Israel alliance

I would like Malaysia or Indonesia to be in there.

Malaysia doesn't have the military muscle, but they have the will.

Indonesia is the opposite, they have the capacity, but they lack the will. They are a G20 economy with money and a fairly educated populous, but honestly the least ambitious state I've seen, they should be a powerhouse with a massive navy, but they just don't spend enough, and dedicate resources there, so they are a sleeping giant.

If these 3 nations can achieve what you mention, if your able to add another 3 nations realistically it will be strong enough to never worry about being attacked. We have 50 or so Muslim majority nations and i think 6 allied together in the way mention would be more then enough.

Even if you look at Iran today, had they been in an alliance with Pakistan and Turkiye, there is no way the zionists could have attacked them.

I think that's the spirit of this agreement anyway, never to be attacked or conquered by any other country, so yes this has to be the way forward. I don't see Iran joining, it would be good if they did but if this agreement turns into a successful project, i don't see why not Iran or Egypt or even UAE can join as observers. I think this agreements in its infancy should just remain between the 3 countries, the OG's.

Have watched 30 mins or so. Brilliant stuff.

Clear and well articulated journalism as expected from Magnier. He knows Iran and the region very well.

His perspectives about the political dynamics prevalent in Iran at the present time are worth a listen.

He is rightly concerned about the Yemen conflict spiralling further and its economic ramifications.

I would also emphasise his brief inferences regarding the functional roles of the three parties to the Mecca agreement - it is not JUST some military pact offering "gunboat diplomacy" to solve regional matters. The three parties can also complement one another and take a lead in regional mediation and deconfliction efforts. If KSA happens to be a belligerent party in a given conflict, then the added benefit of the neutrality of Turkish and Pakistani leverage should not be underestimated in this context.

Similarly, NATO deconflicts in its sphere of influence as often as it threatens its enemies - this receives less press of course, since such actions are not as dramatic as the sabre rattling we are all addicted to these days. There is no reason this new pact should not operate in a similar manner, quietly and responsibly working towards locally driven, peaceful solutions to local problems.

It's quite funny that at the same time the Turkish-Pakistani mutual defense understanding, which isn't even written on a piece of paper, goes unchallenged and nobody questions it substance or relevance. Why? The relationship is so profound, interconnected, and enduring that it is well understood both regionally and globally that they will stand by each other in all circumstances. This kind of relationship is worth a 1000 official mutual defense agreements.

People in Turkey aren't questioning Pakistan's loyalty BTW. Rather, everybody is talking about how trustworthy Saudi Arabia is in case of an emergency...
Because goodwill between peoples isn’t suspected or eroded yet.
Turks haven’t been subjected at large to the crappy elements of Pakistani society at scale unlike Saudi Arabians with criminals blending in with religious trips - so people havent landed with Hashish stuffed in their anuses while coming to do Umrah or Laborers harassing or molesting school girls - turkey has only seen harassment from token Pakistani bad actors.

On the flip side - other the one off racism incidents Pakistanis arent (for a variety of reasons including what demographic engages with them) subjected to bigotry and discrimination in Turkey in general with goodwill prevalent, unlike Saudi Arabia(and other gulf countries) where they are(for reasons not one sided) treated historically and still prevalent as lesser beings.

Therefore , this overall goodwill (being interpreted as trust) is experienced between Pakistan and Turkey may not be the same at scale between KSA and Pakistan - Ive chosen to purposefully not comment on Turkish view of KSA since that relationships reasons are better known to turks or Saudis -

And Ill close this off again saying that doesn’t mean Saudis are bad people because of this relationship perception but that the dynamic of the relationship was driven by how the people to people relationship developed which is different to how Pakistan and Turkish people know each other.

bad actors.

Hmm... so you're basing your argument on the worst that Pakistan has to offer... that is one way to look at it...
Shouldn't Turks or Saudis here do exactly the same and we all walk away flap the shirts and move on. That would be hyper cynical view of the world...
One of the reasons why people with certain wealth don't shop or live among the masses is the persistent assumption that they will be burned or jipped out of their wealth... hassled or heckled. Live in gated communities, off the beaten path or in cul-de-sacs and shop at niche and overpriced shops. Keeps the unwashed away...

And Pakistan as does the rest of the world has hordes of them... what else is new.

You're basing you're rebuttal on piecemeal read of the argument.

Instead of the 2nd , 3rd and 4th paragraph that explains why.
For that matter - does that imply that all Pakistanis in Houston mostly MQM asylum and illegal immigrants who brought in their sisters by marrying them in fake nikah namas?
Or people who seem to have issues with wealth are actually always envious underachievers in their immigrant journey who never truly amounted to anything so bring it among other typical Uno deck cards for gaslighting in hopes of assuaging their own insecurities.

2 can play that..

Or you can see why the root cause of mistrust exists in the context of why I am skeptical on the overall trust divide in the agreement.

Your ball on what type of argument you want to have.

I still didn't get it... what has, what you described, got to do with geopolitical issues? Does that weigh on US Pakistan relations, now or in the past? The kind of alliances that Pakistan was a part off or was dumped...
What you're describing instead is "perverse incentive" or "Cobra effect", on how people reconcile with regulations and their perception of benefits they can accrue from otherwise an ordinance set in good faith...
Some would blame the incentive structure others who attempted to benefit from it regardless of the end goal set forth by the administrator.

I have been to both Saudi Arabia and Turkiye multiple times... and have had interactions with locals where some shystie locals attempted to swindle a naive tourist. Not uncommon for ones with a check engine light in a town or place you're unfamiliar with and get burned by a mechanic at a shop or roadside in US. These wouldn't implicate the whole town much less a state or reflection of a whole people.

They are firmly in the Asean camp. They have no enemies and dont want to be dragged into anything so its understandable they dont wish to join.

@Oscar can most probably confirm / deny this
Nothing to confirm nor deny - the issue isn't compatibility with the protocol but with keys generated
link-17 is mix of Link-16 and Link-22. But message compatibility does not translate to whether the PAF has (whether by their own or OEM agreement) decided to keep the keys for the two pieces of the net apart.

There are benefits to that as well - Link-16 is shared - Link-17 is proprietary. Pakistan does not invent Link-16 crypto on its own and runs an approved key mgmt which then they fill through using AN/PYQ-10C systems.

Now this is assumption and I cannot say for certain - but there are mechanisms that could be part of wider PAF(or OEM) security concerns on isolating the two subnets within the wider PAF net(or rather Link-16 is the subnet within Link-17 or its current successor).

Because of how sensitive Link-16 is as it is still primary used net even with additional links within NATO you likely signed agreements to:
1. Allow the U.S. to observe and verify compliance with FMS. This means recurring on-site inventories, physical security reviews, and key-control checks. We already know that this happens for US hardware(and on a side note why no one in the US who isnt looking for a quick buck will every echo Indian claims on F-16s.. because the US audits them regularly :p)

2. Key generation and key usage within terminals as to be kept modernized(part of the recent upgrade package) to be relevant. Which means without support - loaded keys and fielded jets can keep working for a while until it starts hitting reliability and sustainment issues. So, you can still fly against enemies - just not effectively for too long.

3. If you digested Link-16 directly within Link-17 terminals - and if the key material is U.S.-releasable Link-16 COMSEC that Washington holds (lets say even if used during a coalition exercise) then basically that potentially opens your national network wide open. VERY UNLIKELY BUT I AM GIVING THIS HERE AS A REASON

4. Lets say if nodes (which theoretically can) run BOTH link-16 and 17, and basically copy paste information from one message to another for the lack of a better analogy you have another leak.

By using a gateway - you also add a separation layer - keep everything secure even if it adds a small(negligible in overall context) latency.

Considering the paranoia the military has about US access to the net - making it a primary "adversary" in red vs blue infosec scenarios - to my read what the competent could do - they have done - now it is up to adversaries of Pakistan to exploit what the incompetent left open or the dishonest can open.
