In India that is not an issue as demosntrated by deliveries of S400 well after war started in Ukraine incl this year too.

Hal is literally reporting it an issue, how ignorant are you, or is it that literally anything negative about Indian forces has to be denied? Sums up the state of Indian defence

State-owned aerospace and defence company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has successfully resolved significant supply chain disruptions from Russia for the maintenance of the Su-30 MKI fighter jet fleet, a critical asset for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

The stabilisation ensures that the operational readiness of India's primary air superiority fighter is not compromised.

The Su-30 MKI, which forms the backbone of the IAF's combat fleet with over 250 aircraft in service, is manufactured under license by HAL and depends on a steady supply of spare parts and components from Russia.

According to HAL's Chairman and Managing Director, D.K. Sunil, acquiring these essential supplies became challenging in 2024. The difficulties arose primarily because Russian manufacturing plants were operating at full capacity to meet their own country's defence needs amid war in Ukraine.

In a recent discussion with the publication Flightglobal, Mr. Sunil confirmed that the situation has now improved.

"We’ve been in regular discussions with them, and we’re getting the supplies," he stated, highlighting that persistent dialogue with Russian partners has been key to overcoming the logistical obstacles

Yes they did and all six A321 already delivered to IAF and is doing better than Sultan project ever did.

Lying about what? You have 180 Tejas signed for and no delivery, now there seems to be another project that is going nowhere fast, with noi delivery timelines and not a single new AEW delivered since last Netra.

So what exactly are you celebrating here? Another social media post?

Sea Sultan is chugging along slower then expected, but correct me if i am wrong here, youa re celebrating 6 A321s delivere to IAF without AEW? What is the actual achievment here? Even PN/PAF are using linage as standard planes already, in that area, Pakistan is ahead....

HAL has deliverdd more aircraft than all companies in middle east and South asia combined. So it's word is far more valuable than a random forum poster

The AEW systems are our own radars, that take time to make. Social media post is about contract signing.

Genius, the aircraft are overhauled and delivered for conversion to Mk2 Netra for which contract is recently signed. At least not doing VVIP duties.

No, its because of many conditions that were imposed to select the consortium/firm to build the prototypes, one of which was orderbook to revenue ratio should not be more than 3:1 which in HAL's case is 8:1. And they already will have the production order for LCA Mk2 which will be built in hundreds like Mk1/1A. So they had a lot of orders to execute with a strong potential order pipeline too.

Other thing being to create a parallel rival private aerospace competitor to end HAL's monopoly, similar to Govt's approach at Space privatisation to end ISRO's monopoly. Similar stuff with missiles and other munitions being outsourced for production to private firms which earlier was BDL and OFB monopoly.

Already happening with TASL now license producing C-295 and H-125 helicopters, becoming an alternative aircraft manufacturer in India.

Fostering competition is one thing. Drafting eligibility conditions with the sole intent of specifically excluding HAL is quite another.
