Ah thats interesting, Sounds like maybe different DNA tests give you different results lolMy cousin also got his result from 23mofang, and it is something like 80% Northern Han Chinese, and nearly 20% Southern Han Chinese.
BTW, 23mofang states that the Southern/Northern Han Chinese division occurred like 10,000 years ago, and they are still more closely related to each other than the unique genetic markers from the Koreans and Japanese.
I thought Southern China mixed with the Baiyue people about 2000years ago. Im not a historian but northern chinese migrated to south and mixed with the natives there whom were more 'vietnamese' like.My cousin also got his result from 23mofang, and it is something like 80% Northern Han Chinese, and nearly 20% Southern Han Chinese.

The migration hasn't always been north to south like you said it has gone both ways too. I was born in Tianjin i might add which is why my DNA is north. If i Ask my hokkien Singaporean friend to do it, she might have vastly different results with majority southern dna. Most Southern Chinese men carry the haplogroup Y-DNA O2 just like the Northern Chinese men, but the mtDNA was different due the marriage with the local women like Dong and Dai people.
Why most Northern Chinese also universally carry a small fraction of the Southern Chinese ancestry?
Because since the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, Northern China was even more ravaged by the northern barbarians than Southern China, that's why some Southern Chinese farmers were also relocated to Northern China.
But most Southern Chinese who relocated in Northern China might be fishermen as well, since the coastal region like Shandong carries more Southern Chinese ancestry than other inland northern provinces.
According to the one drop rule, I now can claim Kim Jong Un as my dear leader!Hey fellas have anyone done one of those ancestry or DNA tests? I know they are not the most reliable thing in the world at the moment but I did it for fun a while back and here is my data.

China hasnt been invaded much or mingled with other regions and ethnicities so your DNA is straightforward Chinese. Though in our indian subcontinent region it's very interesting and complex. My cousin also got his result from 23mofang, and it is something like 80% Northern Han Chinese, and nearly 20% Southern Han Chinese.

If you read the recorded history books, quite a number of Chinese migrated to the Korean peninsula in the last few thousands years starting with the collapsing of Shang dynasty.According to the one drop rule, I now can claim Kim Jong Un as my dear leader!
Hmm interesting. They were a tributary state for such a long time and when china got conquered by mongols Koreans said they were now true descendants of the dragon and have mandate of heaven. If you read the recorded history books, quite a number of Chinese migrated to the Korean peninsula in the last few thousands years starting with the collapsing of Shang dynasty.
No saaar it starttedddd phrom Sindhu naadi when we did farst elephant head surgery.Koreans believe that humanity started from Korea.
Yes, China was more distant from other major civilizational centers in history, so possibly less mixing compared to other major groups.China hasnt been invaded much or mingled with other regions and ethnicities so your DNA is straightforward Chinese.
