Change from Google to DuckDuckGo it's like change from cocacola to pepsi.

If you want a search engine far from Western claws, you can use Yandex (Russia) or Baidu (China).

But of course, it's unusable for non-Russian or non-Chinese spoken people.

Iran was handed a political victory on a silver platter. They had survived the initial assault, shown that they could hurt the other side and created enough pressure to bring everyone to the negotiating table. They did not need to defeat the US militarily, they only needed to take the deal, preserve their gains and dclare victory.

But the IRGC mistook leverage for superiority. They overestimated their own strength, underestimated the military and economic imbalance and thought that more escalation would bring them even better terms.

Now their own leadership is looking for negotiations, but the other side is no longer responding. Why would they? Iran rejected talks when its leverage was at its strongest and is now asking for the same talks from a much weaker position.

There is a difference between having enough power to force negotiations and having enough power to dictate the outcome. The IRGC failed to understand that difference and squandered a win that was already in their hands.

You're right, of course, that maritime law applicable to Iran must also be applicable to Oman, regarding territorial waters. But the issue here is that the terms of a MoU implemented in June were broken by a certain entitled nation state who calls itself an "ally" of the USA. Amidst the bellicose drama between Iran and USA, it is easily forgotten that Tel Aviv chose to continue assaulting Lebanon and killing Lebanese civilians, even proudly attesting to the fact, as the terms of the MoU were enabled.

Those terms originally included the mandate by which the SoH would be governed, regardless of any default maritime law.

I don't see how any diplomatic solution can work because of one specific spoiler.
