Federal cabinet gives nod to imposition of emergency in KP; summary sent to president

Beautifully put, uncle story time. My niece came over to Pakistan last year from Canada so I promised my brother I would show the around the village etc, I picked them up from Islamabad and bundled them into the car and on our way to join the motorway she made a really interesting observation:

"The people of Pakistan look so resigned, they drive in his unbearable heat, in this queues of cars that snake across this long stretch of road, and no one protests, everyone is just droning along"...

For a moment, I paused and thought, damn she is going to be a philosopher when she grows up, and then I told her

"it is because people are too busy surviving, in Canada people think about what movie they are going to watch at the Cinema, or the next Ice Hokey match with their friends, in Pakistan most people think, will I be able to bring tamatar and anday back home for my wife and kids."

So people just keep on keeping on... Our people are stuck in the perpetual loop of Roti, Kapada, Makaan:

In many ways, people in the west are no different. Most people just carry on carrying on because taking on larger social causes requires too much personal and political capital when the key concern is paying rent/mortgage, making car payments and affording healthcare etc.

Domestic politics aside, supposedly after the recent meet in Moscow, where Taliban were also invited, GoP now believes that no external pressure will be placed on the Taliban to mend their ways. So the thinking is that the house needs to be sorted out within KPK ourselves instead of relying on friends and external power centers to reign in the Taliban.

Only time will tell whether this will usher in some level of internal security stability.
one of the downsides is that PTI will wave the victim card and win the next elections again claiming it never got the chance to serve its people (although we all know that it has no intention of doing so other than using the resources on organising war marches on Punjab.)

It now lies 100 percent with the establishment to fix this mess, now that they have taken the reigns from PTI.

If you don't want PTI to take sympathy votes then sympathize with the people.

Pashtuns do not hate Pakistan or the Army in the sense that they hate what they are going through. They are hurting and need proper help.

True, very true. But there is still social mobility, there is still some sense of equity, that is sadly lacking in Pakistan. Most Pakistanis follow the same old loop again and again. Take my local Karyana walla, him and his family have been running that shop for the past 45 years, Father, Son, Grandson.

I am very good friends with the family and one day asked the son, why don't you send your son to school, you know if he does Metic exam I can help him get a job in some local office. To which he simply replied "we are simple people, why trouble ourselves with the land of Babus..."

This thought process is what ultimately plagues Pakistanis, and you know sir, we suffer for Messiah complex, be it Kaptaan or Sher or Bhutto or Wardi. We have an issue of seeking messiahs.

Reminds me of the time I was training the rescue team in Mansehra and we asked the local DC office to help us find female volunteers we can train as well, there was a lot of paindu pushback from the local community "women are meant to be in the home, they will go to these courses and learn bad values, etc etc".

We spent a lot of time engaging with the local community, and explained that women would be taught separately they would be taught by female instructors and the turn over gear can be worn over their existing shalwar kameez, and ultimately when there is a disaster, it doesn't differentiate between genders, nature is the great equalizer.

Point is there were women in that batch of trainees, who told our female colleagues, this training you have given us, it has broadened our minds so much, all of the women didn't even know that when someone suffers burns to the skin you are not to apply fat to the burn as it can cause further harm to the skin and tissue, one woman actually told my colleague "we have always been taught by our elders, if someone burns their hand put some ghee on it".

Don't take this old man's words as gospel... Listen to the women themselves and how our training empowered them:

To change Pakistan you need to change mindsets, this requires time and is a grass-roots activity, it is not a top down exercise. And what better way than to teach women who are the care givers, the mothers and the teachers of a home, a village a "community" and communities build nations.

PTI with or without Imran has already created a situation that could result in Balkinization of Pakistan. If that happens they can always use the same old tactics and blame fauj.
Inshallah Pakistan will overcome this fitna very soon.

No. Fauj trampled a govt that held absolute majority in KPK. KPK is already extremely volatile and an avg man is already mad, and the geniuses in GHQ thought let's break the government, put our man ( who has never won an election in his life except once ) and give entire KPK a middle finger.

Idk why some uncs here think that this will usher in an era of stability. It'd usher an era where Balochistan 2.0 will happen in KPK.

GOOD LUCK

indeed people of KP need help the . and the establishment has no excuse in its failure but going by the record we both know that people's interest is never a priority no matter who is in power.

Don't worry wrora. Pashtuns are not separatists. The response to governor raj should give you the clue despite huge claims by potis. Not even dogs came out to protest.

Pashtuns are islamist terrorists and that was the reality before governor raj. TTP was being helped by PTI with funds and narrative. Those days are over. Now its time for zarb-e-azb 2.0.

The people will forget PTI once state/army bring back peace. The federal govt/N league will bring much needed development and reforms after 13 years of corruption.

When I again and again said that the people of KPK were tired of the way the PTI govt was handling the province and there was no significant work done by the PTI govt in ANY field under it's disposal....

These overseas " shah sei ziyada shah k wafadar " would attack me over commentary and brain washing by YouTube rage baiters and psyop players.

Well, here is the result of prioritizing 1 man over the lives of 4 crore people. In the exact opposite of the ideology that man had preached.

Not only did you not create social media pressure over the whole KPK cabinet but you also made an executive who ruled over 4 crore people into a personal pet and a jester. Ignoring his people almost completely.

Cheers to you the overseas Pakistani who thought what was happening for the past 3 to 4 years in the province, was normal.

Now what has been done is done...

Establishment and Noonis have 2.5 years to fix the mess that's KPK governance to the point where writ is established and normal poitics can continue...

Best of luck to them for the sake of my homeland and its people.
Long live Pakistan
Long live Pakhtunkhwa
People of KP repeatedly voted for PTI, most recently a super-majority in the 2024 election.
By destroying the KP govt, the army has once again insulted the public, rejected their choice and suppressed their constitutional rights. Such an army is not going to get any support from said public for any campaigns.

Why 2.5 years to fix the alleged "mess" by PTI ? The army can just rig future elections or conduct another coup and rule by the gun again.

What's absurd is those who have expectations from an army which has repeatedly failed to fulfill its basic duties towards Pakistani citizens, let alone solve any problems since 1958. Is Asim Munir in possession of a Suleymani cap which will allow him to succeed where all other dictators have failed ?

Well if that's the case this time as well then the writing is on the wall
‏إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ

There is no space for blunders this time.

Well 2.5 years they will have their litmus test.

In trying to make a point you start from " ا ". Then completely ignore the problem at hand....

There was nothing stopping PTI from delivery in KPK where they enjoyed extreme favor from deep state for majority of their rule..

ultimately that is the crux of it.

Public mandate has absolutely no Islamic connections. Infact throughout Muslim's history fauj was responsible for politics and goverance of its empire. Pakistan's constitution is remnant of British raj with little bit of Islami touch added later on. Thats why I have absolute no respect for Pakistan constitution that must be changed according to Pakistan's and geopolitical situation.
