No one meddled in their affairs.

The Public talked. Turkey is not going to arrest people in Turkey for commenting on stuff happening in another country. Aliyev is demanding people get arrested and sent to Azerbaijan for prosecution. He is acting too big, and the only reason he is doing that b/c its a calculated element to create the conditions to justify a distancing and break from Turkey.

They need to understand that they are landlocked and share a border with Iran and Russia, and on the borders of each sit majority Persian ethnic groups or groups with their own states like the Lezgins in Dagestan(who Putin appointed a Lezgin head of state recently). The only reason they aren't mauled by Russia like Georgia is, is because of Turkey and no one else. it is because of a Treaty that says Turkey will come to their aid. There is no such treaty with Israel, and the Jews won't send soldiers to fight for them and die for them.

Thus there can be no relationship Azerbaijan has that can be placed higher than the relationship with Turkiye, and the privileged relationship must come with respect for Turkish interests as well as not antagonizing Turkey, on top of which there no equality between Turkey and Israel in this respect. You cannot 50/50 this, b/c Turkey is putting in more than whatever the Israelis ever offered you or can give you, or have attachment to you. Azerbaijan should not take actions that run counter to Turkish interests, and should prioritize the Turkish ecosystem over the Israeli ecosystem.
