I remember 2001 like it was yesterday; when a gas dispute arose in the Caspian Sea, Iran was on the verge of invading Azerbaijan.

Turkiye sent F-16s to Baku, and once Iran was warned, they backed down.

Otherwise, Iran and Armenia would have caught Azerbaijan in a pincer movement.

And yes, we were the ones who took back Karabakh.

Who is Azerbaijan, really, to stop Russia, Iran, and France, and break through 28 years of fortifications to reclaim Karabakh?

— Turkish E-7T AEWCs flew along the border, pinpointing the locations of Armenian air defense systems.
