Federal cabinet gives nod to imposition of emergency in KP; summary sent to president

The "problem" will indeed be solved once and for all this time. The federation means business. Ordinary people will benefit THE MOST, as the tribal approach to societal functionality will be summarily crushed due to it being routinely exploited by Afghans as a vehicle within which to harbour their miscreant operatives and their perverse ideologies.

The Governors Rule is leading to 'The Last War' approach against the terrorists coming from Afghanistan and their supporters in Pakistan. Pakistan suffers in every way due to the terrorism: Economy, peace, literacy, tourism, focus, development.

Were TTP terrorists really hiding behind the encroachments in Bazaars of KPK all this time? Is that the so-called "emergency" which necessitated imposing military governor rule in the province? 🙄
@Goenitz @ziaulislam @SaadH @hussain0216

You think KPK problem is only terrorism? The destruction of last 13 years isn't limited to pro terrorist narrative.

You think KPK problem is only terrorism?
Then why increase in terrorism was used as primary justification to impose emergency & military governor rule in the province? 🙄
The federal government justified the decision by pointing to a sharp surge in terror attacks across KP, alleging that the provincial administration was obstructing counterterrorism efforts, failing to maintain public order and allowing militant groups space to operate.

So, that is the election of that time and age. Those tribal leaders also had a close circle in their tribes. It was a complete chain.

there were many decisions which came outside the core group! What are you saying? like where to camp in Badar!!
Respected Sir, "Election of that time and age" remains a form of governance by supremely wise council, not by representative democracy. In fact, Plato and Socrates would have been the first to approve of this quasi-Athenian standard of "democracy" enshrined by Islam's very own founding fathers.

We have strayed much too far from this path of rationality, by adopting modern purple inked idolatry and loudspeaker jhalsa culture, and actually need to return to this more traditional form of governance by way of a truly benevolent dictatorial council.

Agreed. The struggle is all-encompassing. Some folks here make the mistake of assuming it is only specific terrorist "safe houses" that will be targeted. It is the ideology itself that motivates terror networks that will now be eradicated. Not one of these suicide bombers can survive without a supply line and/or local network for support. The swamp will be drained. Girls will feel safe at school. Female doctors will practice without fear that some day "talibanisation" might cut their practice off summarily. The advantages will befall the daughters and sons of NWFP, which will in turn be a simple win for all of Pakistan.

One only needs to observe the example of Turkiye's struggle against the PKK to get the gist of what needs to be done here.

Terrorism is the tip of the spear. Nothing wrong with citing this as the main motivator for imposition of governorship. What else would you have them cite?

I highly doubt their good will and niyaat.

Can't go outside of Quetta and be safe.
All BLA is coming from Afghanistan? No
Kacahy k daaku are coming from Afghanistan? No

Those here who question the benefits of the security operations are willingly forgetting what Pakistan was like between 2007 and 2016; a decade lost to terrorism! A decade! Suicide bombings everywhere.
Afghanistan has a population of 40 million people and a large part of that are unemployed and in a hopeless situation. Not hard to recruit even 1-2% of them to attack Pakistan. Do the math what those few percentage can do. And look at a video of a tribal leader which I posted some days ago in this thread: Per him, the locals do try to stop the Afghans but per him it is always possible for the terrorist to find ways to sneak in. The terrain is perfect for infiltration and it is a very long border too. The security forces are doing what they can within Pakistan's limited resources and are sacrificing their lives. Shame on them who question their devotion and ignore their sacrifices. SHAME!

Better salary in Afghanistan? Pakistani can earn remittance by sending skill workers to Afghanistan. :P

This is for those who wanted to kick every Afghani out of Pakistan. You never close all the door. God forbid If Arab kicked Pakistani out, where will our 60% to 70% low-skilled/unskilled workers will go?

So when are you moving from America to Afghanistan? Please do send us post cards from Kabul :)

I posted a video showing that people are earning an honest living in Afghanistan, and suddenly some people wants to know if I’m moving there. 😂

Brother, if I compliment a restaurant, does that mean I have to sell my house and move into the kitchen? 🤣

The point is that people can work together without hating each other. Apparently, that’s a more difficult concept to understand than geography.

Please come out of this feudal mindset and realize what you have been feed is far from reality.

The "feudal mindset" is exactly the problem. Pakistan will fix it.

KP Governor Orders Peshawar Authorities To Advance Urban Infrastructure Projects

Faisal Karim Kundi reviewed road, underpass, traffic-management and civic schemes under the Peshawar Master Development Plan, including a citywide proposal to shift electricity cables underground and improve public spaces.

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Oct, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday directed the authorities to ensure the timely completion of development projects under the Peshawar Master Development Plan, stressing improved traffic management, better civic facilities and the gradual shifting of electricity cables underground across the provincial capital.

Chairing a meeting at the Governor House, the governor reviewed progress on development schemes, traffic management, road rehabilitation, construction of underpasses, parking facilities, anti-encroachment measures and other initiatives aimed at improving urban infrastructure and public amenities.

Adviser to Governor on Finance Asif Mahmood Pasha, Adviser on Local Government Asif Rafiq, Chief Secretary Dr Muhammad Fakhare Alam Irfan and other senior officials attended the meeting.

The meeting was briefed on the 100-day and 180-day targets of the Peshawar Master Development Plan, ongoing development projects and the future roadmap.

Officials informed the meeting that completion of Phase-I and Phase-II of the Ring Road Missing Link, construction of underpasses, installation of electric poles, streetlights and cable infrastructure were among the key 100-day targets. Three underpasses have already been completed, while the Pishtakhara and Jameel Chowk underpasses are nearing completion. Work is also underway on the installation of electric poles, lighting, rehabilitation and cabling along Ring Road and GT Road at a cost of Rs500 million.

The Governor was also briefed on projects for the rehabilitation, upgradation and construction of 35 major roads in Peshawar. Construction work on the second level of the Pir Zakori Flyover and expansion of Nasir Bagh Road is in progress, while consultants have been hired for underpasses at University Road, Ram Das Chowk and Lahori Chowk under Phase-I.

The meeting was informed that the New Peshawar Bus Terminal, spread over 323 kanals, would soon be made operational under a public-private partnership model. It also reviewed proposals to clear debris within two days after anti-encroachment operations and convert reclaimed land into landscaped public spaces with green areas. The participants also discussed the possibility of developing shopping malls or residential flats at old bus terminal sites.

The Governor directed the authorities to initiate work on a citywide plan for shifting electricity cables underground, saying the move would not only enhance the city's appearance but also help curb electricity theft.

He also ordered priority recarpeting of University Road and called for beautification of canal roads on the pattern of Lahore through modern lighting and landscaping.

The meeting also discussed traffic congestion, parking plazas, Regi Model Town and bottlenecks caused by central medians on Dalazak Road, Charsadda Road and Circular Road. Officials informed the meeting that no rickshaw or Qingqi had been registered since 2016 due to the absence of the required legislation, while the proposed e-challan system also came under discussion.

Governor Kundi directed the authorities to consult traffic police before constructing proposed underpasses and form joint working groups to resolve traffic issues at major congestion points. He also ordered the preparation of a feasibility study for an underpass on Kohat Road.

He said legislation for the registration of Qingqi rickshaws and other rickshaws was essential and urged immediate legal measures. The Governor also called for strict enforcement of traffic laws, effective action against violators and a comprehensive public awareness campaign on road safety.

He further directed the authorities to undertake immediate beautification of tourist attractions in Peshawar and develop reclaimed land from anti-encroachment operations into public spaces to provide citizens with a cleaner environment and improved recreational facilities.

The bitter truth; current military establishment of Pakistan (headed by Asim Muneer) is anti-PTI to the core & thus won't leave any stone unturned in HIS quest of "crushing" it.
