Honestly, wife is furious. She said a few minutes ago something like 'I hate the northerners (yankees) moving into South Carolina. They are the one making effing bitch Annie Andrews win!'. Not kidding: In words to that effect. Southerners can be quite parochial.
I tried to console her by saying 'It is too early to know. We may not know until midnight or tomorrow'. (But in my heart, I was smiling and she probably knows that)

SC is going to be close, and it wasn't even a Battleground State to begin with.........

SC's RCP rating is Graham + 3, but the 2 Republican States had RCP both wrong by 5% or more margin (FL by 5.2 and NC by 11) so if that was a +3 before, it right smack in the deviation here, Dem had a chance on even South Carolina

Bottoms win over Jackson by 13 points........(RCP had it for +0.3 for Bottom)

So Senate win by 1.8, and Governor win by 1.2 in a ruby-red state and Gerrymandered Florida, that's interesting.

It looks like Dem is going to pick up Ohio, South Carolina, Maine, and Texas, which would make them 52-48

Republicans hold the Senate 53-47. Democrats need a net gain of four; a gain of three produces a 50-50 chamber, which stays Republican thanks to JD Vance's tie-breaking vote. That means Democrats have to hold Georgia, Michigan and New Hampshire, and then flip four of the GOP-held seats in North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Alaska, Maine, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and South Carolina.
