US 2026 Midterm Elections Thread

The US stops giving a penny to Ukraine long ago.
Read my post… seems you completely skipped my post where the UK ambassador and EU are hopeful for increased US spending for Ukraine. As I said, before you jump the gun read what I have typed.

Thanks

Ok I got it.

Insanely close Senate race in deep red Mississippi. Dem candidate has a 43 vote lead

A lot of red in MichiganView attachment 222023
Michigan has always been red outside the largest cities and metro areas.

Still looking at the results across the country. The Democrats were motivated in early voting, Republicans failed to show up on election day.

Democrats did not win, Republicans lost their base.

Morning…

Looks like Trump has lost bigly…

Losing both houses is very embarrassing. Did someone say Lame Duck president.

Let’s see how the orange idiot rationalises this..
Maybe the orange narcissist will rejoin the Democratic party?

Rubio is f'ed for 2028. It would be stupid for him to try.

We are looking at one of the biggest blowouts in the last 40 years; whoever comes next with the GOP is going to turn to dust. There is a reason why Ben Wallace in the UK didn't want to take the Helm after Johnson left office, because the political environment is toxic and then Liz Truss took the helm and basically became a laughing stock of the political world.

Ask @RescueRanger he will tell you more

Depends on who the Dems run. Another Kamala type running on far left woke DEI initiatives will get beat by Rubio.

The U.S. midterm elections have made history.

Democrats have taken control of both the U.S. House and Senate, and some of the results are almost unbelievable.

Here's what happened:

1. Democrats flipped 6 Senate seats and 15 House seats, marking their largest Senate net gain since 2008.

2. Kansas elected Adam Hamilton, its first Democratic U.S. senator in 94 YEARS, defeating Republican Roger Marshall.

3. Texas elected James Talarico to the Senate, its first Democratic Senate victory since 1988, defeating Trump-backed Ken Paxton.

4. Abdul El-Sayed won the Michigan Senate race, becoming the first Muslim elected to the U.S. Senate.

5. Gina Hinojosa defeated Republican Greg Abbott, becoming Texas' first Democratic governor in more than 30 YEARS and its first Latina governor.

6. Democrats also flipped Senate seats in Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina and Iowa, including Sherrod Brown's comeback victory in Ohio.

7. Xavier Becerra defeated Steve Hilton to become California's first Latino governor since 1875.

8. Texas turned blue as Democrats swept all five major statewide races for the first time in decades.

9. Democrats made major gains in traditionally Republican states, including Texas, Kansas, South Carolina and Iowa, where Trump had won comfortably in 2024.

The biggest issue for voters was the cost of living.

High fuel prices, the Iran war and growing frustration over the economy played a major role in the results.

This is one of the biggest shifts in American politics since the 2006 midterms.

"My name is Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, and I am so proud and honored to stand here as your Senator-elect from the great state of Michigan. Up until right about now, you might have noticed I always say 'Inshallah' or 'God willing' whenever the outcome of this race was mentioned. But today, tonight, we can turn that 'Inshallah' into a 'Alhamdulillah!'"
