RAF will intercept Iran's attacks 'as required'

British Royal Air Force (RAF) jets in the region "will intercept any airborne attacks within range" of the UK's existing missions in the Middle East "as required", the Ministry of Defence says.

It also urges parties in the conflict to de-escalate.

Another statement by Defence Minister Grant Shapps says additional RAF assets have been deployed to the region, including jets and air refuelling tankers.

"I strongly condemn the senseless airborne attack that Iran has launched on Israel," he says. "It serves no benefit other than to further undermine regional security."

Guys let just not get carried on and pray for peace for all. No need to chest thump. All lives are precious irregardless of any faith. Let's hope this doesn't turn into a regional war, as civilian suffer the most.

Iran has shown it can get through that so-called mythical israeli and western defence. The US, Israeli, UK, Jordanian airforces all trying to shoot down drones and missiles but couldnt stop them all. Hits on Israeli airforce base despite the damage is hugely symbolic as well. Iran has shown it can get through and cause damage if it really wants to try.

@Immortals

What are the odds that Iran test fire a nuclear device ans cut NPT if Israel wants to bomb nuclear sites and civilian areas as they always do?

Highly likely. If Israel attacks nuclear program, Iran will withdraw from NPT 100%.

Diamona will be 100% attacked as well. It is in the desert and thus radiation fallout will be small as there are not cities within I believe 20KM. Where as attack on Natanz radiation fallout will be a bit more substantial and it’s near more population areas.

I suggest everyone get gas today and tomm.

If Israel responds harshly we might be in major regional war by end of next week.

Wonderful work by the defense system. It fired after and killed oxygen.
I love that it tepidly fired into the sky after 4 ballistic missiles already successfully impacted next to it lol

Reactions: Waz
Israel will attack, AIPAC already asking its paid employee's aka US senators to go to war on behalf of Israel, i wonder how many of the US senators will send their kids to middle East? or go themselves to fight? These old farts are willing to send US soldiers to kill innocent people, who later come home with PTSD and often ended up with putting a bullet in their own heads.

Israel's wet dream is the fight Iran to the last American sucker.

Saudi Arabia calls for "restraint" amid Iranian strikes on Israel

From CNN’s Caroline Faraj and Eyad Kourdi

The Saudi Foreign Ministry expressed concerns over the “recent military escalations” in the region and their “potential severe repercussions” following Iranian drone and missile attacks directed at Israel, according to a statement published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on X Sunday.

“The Ministry reaffirms the Kingdom's position that stresses the need for the (UN) Security Council to take responsibility for maintaining international peace and security, especially in this highly sensitive region for global peace and security,” the Saudi ministry added.

The ministry stressed the importance of “preventing any further exacerbation” of the crisis, warning of “dire consequences” should the situation worsen.

If Israel attacks Natanz they better hope Dimona has better air defences than Ramon Air Base

Amman residents report seeing "flashes" in the sky over Jordanian capital

From CNN’s Jomana Karadsheh and Zeena Saifi

Residents in Amman told CNN they saw and heard activity in the skies over different parts of the Jordanian capital early Sunday morning.

Video sent to CNN by eyewitnesses show what appeared to be mid-air interceptions. The eyewitnesses said the interceptions happened just before 2 a.m. local time.

“At first we heard explosions in the distance. We looked outside and it was like flares in the sky, flashes. We saw something coming up and then falling,” one man in west Amman, who asked not to be named, told CNN.

A second resident who lives in the same area said they thought whatever was “exploding in the sky” would land in their neighborhood.

“The light was so bright. … It’s like the Iron Dome goes up, shoots it and explodes. It was scary, the sounds. You could hear the explosions echo. … You see what’s like a shooting star trailing down,” a second eyewitness, who also asked not to be named, said to CNN.
