Western officials say Israel just 'testing the waters'

Iranians woke up to reports of a "micro drones" attack on a military site in Isfahan, central Iran.

Some western officials with knowledge of Israel’s possible retaliation against Iran’s unprecedented drone and missile attack on Israel believe that this is only “the first stage”.

“The strategy is: Minor attack to make Iran react for a major response on the nuclear sites”, according to a western diplomat in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, a western military official says that based on reports from Syria and Iran - indicating that some essential radars were the target of drone strikes in both countries, “Israelis are kind of mirroring Iran and its allies like Hezbollah by first trying to destroy radars, creating false or delusive targets as well as trying to damage the radars to disable interception systems," they said.
There is still a lot of contradictory information coming out from Iran regarding the incident, with IRGC-linked media Tasnim denying “any attack on Iran” quoting “informed sources".

While some Iranian officials told media that “there won’t be any reaction from Iran to the incident”.

But the question is, was this really Israel’s expected retaliation? Western officials I talked to believe it was not. They tell me it is only a “trap” to “test the waters.”

But it still implies that the israelis can operate in Iraqi airspace with pretty much impunity. Where was the Iraqi airforce with its Block-52 Vipers?

The fact remains that due to geography, the most that the israelis can achieve are limited, specific strikes on key locations in Iran, similar to Osirak in the 80s. Their airforce simply does not have mass scale or the required capability to launch sustained, mass offensive operations against widespread locations in Iran. That is why they are begging the US to do it for them, and trying every trick in the book to draw their Big Satan daddy into the fight, like they did with Iraq.

Dude,

These are downgraded versions and the US would have already supplied the codes to the Zionists to blind the radars.

Only a puppet Iraqi government would have brought weapons from their US occupiers.

Israeli jets supposedly launched cruise missiles outside of Iranian airspace (probably to preserve signatures)

The source of this claim is a US senator who sits on the intelligence committee

That is exactly what I am saying why even bother to use F35 because they are firing missiles from Syria, F16 would be good enough.

Whether failed or not (depending on who's narrative you believe), this was still a direct attack on Iranian soil.

If Iran doesn't respond, and just down plays until the matter is closed it's not gonna be a good look for Iran.

It this a joke? Im not being coy, Im seriously asking. Are you joking?
Iran would be the biggest morons to respond to this pathetic display by Israel.
After 3 war cabinet meetings in Israel, and Israeli generals talking tough, this is all they have came up with? The drones didnt even seem to have been launched from Israel, but from within Iran, and Israel initially did not take responsibility for this "attack".
UNTIL Ben Gvir opened his big mouth and ridiculed the attack, which has led to an internal division in Netanyahus own government, which Gvir is a part of. Read this link.

If this the extent of Israel's "retaliation" the matter can be concluded, and world focus will eventually turn towards the genocide in Gaza again.

The IRGC is laughing all the way to the bank!
