Russia nuclear capability is very questionable it will not survive nuclear war with the west. Russia is not USSR. Russia is all about Putin. A cheap gas station. If Putin wants to put his country and 144 million russians on the poker table then he may go ahead. Even without nuclear war Russia is finished.
