We need to look at this from an overall power balance in the Muslim world.

I left out Turkey on purpose as it is in the western camp both economically and militarily. Hopefully it will leave and join the rest of the Muslim world in an economic and military block.

Saudi and the rest of the Gulfies have so much influence in the Muslim world mainly due to their immense wealth advantage. In 10-15 years as we see continued economic development in those 3 populous Muslim states mentioned then it would be much less so.

Also don't forget that none of these 3 countries even belives the entity has a right to exist. Hopefully Pakistan can get some stable nationalist leadership as a military strong(with nuclear weapons) Pakistan with a decent economy as well would be a true game changer.

We're at risk of going off topic so I'll make on last post on this.
Pakistan won't be stable until such time It's population wakes up - and remember they have been asleep for the last 75 odd yrs!

Gullies and house of Saud has influence on the Muslim world, not due to wealth but due to the religion itself. I.e. blind following. Even today, if MBBS makes one call, millions will line up to fight for him, ignoring the fact that he is worse than Israelis. This blind following is what these country exploit. And as you're spot on about Turkey.

Let's face the reality, there is no hope here - atleast not in the short to medium term.

The “counter-protestors” and the assaults they carry out are the pretext police use to come break up the peaceful protests.

Protestors need to consider or inviting in ACLU protest monitors, legal advisers, a well known US based media to live stream the protest and get the facts out, and some kind of private security to be legally vetted witness and a resource to call in the cops against potential counter protesters, as well as document the inaction of the university staff.

Btw, here is how an average (“white”) millennial American thinks (he’s a comedian) of the UCLA protests, except that he actually visited the protests. Interesting take on how he sees it and could be feedback to refine the protestors tactics. Forgive some of his commentary, but he points out what works to get attention to American audiences (the way organizers manage a large public gathering like a concert). And the attention and support from American audience is one center of gravity of this conflict. Btw, the boomer narcissism, which seems like a separate topic, but is also connected with how the US operates, with money concentrated in the hands of that generation, more so than in past generations, and much of the decision are made by elites in a generation that see themselves as victims.

Also, according to this comedian, many of the protestors at UCLA were his fans.
