political islam was a invading force to Iran, all our ancestors saw them as enemies,in the end they adopted the religion but doesnt change that fact that Islam came into Iran as the ideology of the enemy.

though most of iran was still Zoroastrian till Persian nobility like the Samanids adopted islam and started force converting the population.


you could argue that figures like Saman (founder of Samanid dynasty) are the true "Fathers of iranian islam"

though the concept of "Iranian peoples" goes back to era of Kurosh (cyrus the great), who wanted to "unite all the iranian peoples under one banner" he succeded to unite them all except the Saka/scythians.

The Saka and Scythians got included into the Iranian Empire by Darius the Great after he conquered remaining central asia and the Scythian realm in modern Romania/bulgaria finally uniting all iranian people under one banner.

The Scythians never completely came under Persian rule. Even now, Kurds, Tajiks, Pashtuns, Baluchs, Azeris, Persians, etc. are not united.

From the time of the Arab invasion to the Safavid era, Iranshahr was not exist in political maps.only there were Iranian dynasties that were successful only in one region.

Safavid once again revived the concept of Iranshahr, with the help of Shia Islam.

yeah scythians never completely came under Persian rule though that task would have been kinda impossible as they were spread all around asian and european steppes in smaller tribes.

but the highest chieftains and kings of the Scythians submitted to Darius the Great after he defeated them all in battle one after another in Ukraine,Romania,Bulgaria,Russia and so on.

so technically you can still say the First Persian empire managed to unite all Iranian peoples.

as even the leaders of the Scythians submitted to Persian authority.


Darius made the remaining Scythian and Saka(eastern scythian) rulers and kings submit.
