Three interconnected points on July 7th! Haaretz investigation, Abu Ubaida’s speech, Netanyahu’s office statement
1. According to Haaretz, there are 4 hours and 39 minutes between the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and the Gaza Division giving the first order to prevent any car from returning to Gaza, meaning bombing it and killing those in it, or what is known as activating the Hannibal regime. The important thing in the whole story is that this time (surprise and capture) was enough for Hamas to capture approximately 250 Israelis, bring them to Gaza, and hide them from view. How did Hamas succeed in this and did it expect the form and timing of the Israeli reaction?!
2. In answer to the question, Abu Ubaida touched on a very important point in his speech this evening, coinciding with the war entering its tenth month, where he said that the intelligence documents that were revealed showing Israel’s failure on the seventh of October are “a small portion of what we will reveal later.” It seems that there is no need for Israel to investigate the failure of October 7. It seems that Abu Ubaida will give them the results ready, especially since it seems that the mission to transfer the prisoners to Gaza coincided with a strategic disruption of Israeli communications, or it may be tantamount to a cyber strike, especially since the Haaretz investigation mentioned that the first hours Many reports poured in, the meaning of which was not clear. It also quoted a security official familiar with what happened in those first hours inside the Gaza Division, who said: “No one had any idea what was happening outside.”
3. In the statement issued by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office after Abu Ubaida’s speech, four points were mentioned that Netanyahu considers principles that he will not abandon during the negotiations, including: ⁃ “Any deal will allow Israel to return and fight until all the goals of the war are achieved.” ⁃ “It will not be possible to return.” Thousands of armed terrorists to the northern Gaza Strip.” ⁃"It will not be possible to smuggle weapons to Hamas from the Gaza border to Egypt." ⁃ “Israel will work to maximize the number of living abductees who will be returned from Hamas captivity.”
This is a clear response from Netanyahu's office to the letter. The four points are presented by Netanyahu without any real evidence proving the possibility of having the ability to achieve them. We can say that Abu Ubaida refuted it in his speech when he spoke about:
1. Talk about unifying the Palestinian and Arab resistance arenas in light of the rift experienced by the Israeli arenas, whose differences were reinforced by the war and even forced part of them to appear and be exposed before their time or before they were settled!
2. Abu Ubaida spoke about thousands of mujahideen who were recruited into the support ranks, at a time when Israel is searching for soldiers to join its ranks on the various fronts, and there is no plan for how to recruit the Haredim if they agree to conscription.
3. A show of force regarding the numbers of fighters for the combat brigades and their deployment in the sector, weapons production and recycling, and the existence of a strategic plan to reorganize the ranks. In light of the discussions that are expected to start again and in light of various pressures on the negotiating team, Abu Ubaida is conveying a message that military pressure will not return the prisoners as Netanyahu claims, and if so, then the resistance in Gaza is in a state of organizing and rebuilding itself, according to Abu Ubaida. .
All of this is happening while the streets of Tel Aviv are filled with demonstrations calling for the overthrow of a government that does not return prisoners, and while the Israeli Prime Minister accuses its Defense Minister of trying to overthrow the government in light of the longest war in the country’s life.
