Do you know why Bihar and UP does not produce as many illegal immigrants? Because poors do not go anywhere. Its always rich and enterprising people who do these things legally and illegally. Punjabi and Gujrati are among richer Indians and are known to be enterprising. No wonder they show up in illegal immigration.

As I said, jokers do not have critical reasoning. China's quality of life lately has become quite comparable to west and its population is becoming older. I wrote in my post that emigration of China has come down recently.

Why would the Rich illegally immigrate?

Because immigration laws are not built to favour rich (maybe if one is very rich then they have a much more straight forward path). They are mostly built to favour people having certain skills and qualifications. Its that simple. A wholesale businessman from Gujarat having 3-4 crore in his account will not be able to qualify for the kind of immigration western countries want. He can do a Dunki type of entry into US or UK however.

Canada takes in about a half a million PRs in a year. Most are given to people with skills via economic emigration route. HNI routes (Investor, Enterpenure etc) admit way lesser. And those routes are harder to navigate. Even if you have money.

US EB-5 route is about 10,000 GCs per year. EB-2, EB-3? 80K per year.

Canada used to have investor route in all of Canada. These days only Quebec has investor route.

You have never heard of motel patels? They come from India with money, buy a motel, live in that and run it. They run a much tighter ship than anyone else and then buy another one and next and so on. These guys have captured entire motel market.

Gujaratis are exceptionally good in cost cutting and running a tight business. It pays them in India and in USA.
